Default Is anybody else scale OBSESSED???
I am obsessed with stepping on the scale. I do it at least 8 times a day. I get really depressed if I step on and I feel like I weigh too much at any given time. I always weight myself right before bed and get so worried if I feel like I'm not going to be happy with my number in the morning.

Is anybody else like this?

p.s. I lost 9 lbs in 6 vlc days.

Hello,

I used to hop on the scale all the time too. But now I am on my 2nd week of P2, and everyone says that starting the second week, the weight does not come off as fast each day. I am trying to go against the grain, and try so hard to lose 2 - 3 pounds a day still. I have lost 18 pounds in 11 days.

I also only count my weight in the morning. My first 3 days were bigger losses but the second 3 days its only been less than a pound each day (.8, .4, .6). Worried that it slowed too much too soon.

Yeah, I love the scale. But I have been telling myself only twice a day, right before bed and when I wake up. I like to see the difference. I can usually tell when I'm going to be up a little just by how I feel. It's weird.

This round I have been using the scale every day so far, but only in the morning. I'm actually sort of the opposite of most and sort of hate the scale, so in a previous round after the first week of P2 I only weighed myself weekly (every day in P3 though). It really helped me focus on the long term weight loss and not the daily fluctuating numbers. The scale used to have the power to really depress me if I saw a tiny loss or no loss or especially a gain. I may decide to start doing that again once my losses slow down as they inevitably will

You're going to drive yourself mad. lol
I weight every morning but no other time. I would be too depressed to see how much it might fluctuate during the day.
Weight once a day at the same time every day and that should give you an accurate assessment.

Yup I am like this too If I am home I will get on the scale all day long, but I don't get upset with the numbers I just focus on the one before bed and first thing in the morning. But I just can't help getting on that scale everytime I see it, I'm surprised I don't have to change the batteries more often!! LoL

I really like what you said, GoGetter, because long term this is really more about the lifestyle change and overcoming that subconscious emotional eating (at least for me) although my emotional eating had gotten to the point where it was not exactly subconscious, lol! Yes, I want to lose weight as well and that's at the forefront of my mind. But ultimately I'm trying to attack this problem from the core and learn to eat for physical need while experiencing emotional fulfillment with things other than food.

When I'm home I tend to jump on all day too. I only focus on the morning weight, though.

Congrats on the losses you've achieved thus far. I weigh myself daily in the morning, and that's only because my clinic has instructed me to do so.. I'd much prefer to weigh myself every few days or at the end of the week and see a bigger drop.

Guilty. Welcome to the club. I've been jumping on the scale multiple times a day now for over a year.

I do daily only in the morning. It helps me stay focused on where I want to be & maintain.
