Discourage, slow weight loss, even some weight gain!

I'm starting to get discouraged about HCG. I know it's gotta work b/c my husband lost 35lbs his first round. I'm on day 20 (day 18 + 2 load days) and I've only lost 5.9 lbs. I was up to 7lbs lost and then woke up the next day and had gained, again. *sigh* the last 10 days I have gained and lost a pound (sometimes two) every day for the last 10 days. Only cheated one time and when I did I lost a pound! http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...s/confused.png wth. I'm not looking for advice or input on what I'm doing wrong, my dr. has evaluated my diet and water in take and says I'm doing everything right. I just cant seem to get below 200lbs. Is anyone else out there losing weight slowly? or discouraged? I'm starting to think I'm the only person that this diet isnt working for. http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...lies/frown.png

Maybe is the soap you're using? Or any lotion? Or makeup?

I tell you that because I was like you once and my dr. evaluated my diet and said I was doing everything right but when she asked me the soap I was using then we figured out what was wrong!

Have you read P&I?

I think if you use the search function and read around the forum, you'll find most of us believe Doctors don't know what they're doing http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...es/biggrin.png

Your Doc may be an exception, but you may benefit from posting what plan your doctor has you on so some experienced people here can help you out.

Men lose WAY faster and easier than women. What worked for your husband may not be working for you and if you've lost only 6 pounds in 18 days I'd say you should start considering some tweaking. Food for thought.

Can you itemize your food plan so we can see what you are eating? Also, are you using Pounds and Inches as a manual, I hope?

Are you taking drops? Injections? If drops, what brand? Do they have HCG on label for ingredients?

I would be hesitant with a doctor's recommendation....

What method are you using, what dosage, and what exactly have you been eating?

Ceakicknunk 06-22-2012 08:50 PM

125iu injections
I'm eating all organic. Chicken breast, very lean ground beef, spinach, cabbage, lettuce, melba toast 2 a day, strawberries, apples, cucumbers, and celery. Thats about it. I may be forgetting something. I dont wear makeup except an occasional powder which is oil free and all natural. I use the same shampoo everyday and I'm not changing my shampoo I spend to much on highlights to change it and frankly i dont think and dime size amount of shampoo makes a diff. I use dial plain old bar soap or a hypo allergenic body wash. My husband uses the same soaps and shampoos so if he was able to lose weight with that stuff I should be able to too. Also I'm eating the same stuff/ diet he did. It is POP and yes I have / read the book.

It could be the melba and or the fruit...I'm no pro at this but I have heard that some people including me have cur the melba out and I only do one fruit but I'm also on a clear protein drink every morning too. Also if ur TOM has happened somewhere in ur 18 days that may have effected ur body and losses too . I advise u to get suggestions and try them. And don't worry about how others such as husband are doing because what works for him may not work for you. Keep strong. http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...ilies/wink.png

It could be hormones/ monthly cycle. I was personally happy dropping the melba and most of the fruit, and adding in more protein. Just stayed below 500calories... but the increased protein made me happier than the bread stick or apples.

And fluctuations during a round are normal. I gained 4.5 lbs in a single day prior to TOM. Female bodies suck at times. http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...lies/smile.png

I have tried suggestions, I have gone days without melba or reducing fruits there is no consistency in effectiveness. When I cut melba I gained. I dont even like melba toast. Eating it is like chewing cardboard but b/c its on the list of foods I bought it and I eat it. I have tried only 1 fruit a day, still gained. I tried an apple day and didnt lose anything. I had a heart attack two years ago so I'm not willing to cut my calories lower than 500. I am doing everything by the book and have even tried things others suggested. Nothing has worked. I can only think perhaps the hcg I got is a bad batch or something. I really wasnt posting for advice I just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same or similar problems with losing like I am.

Could be the TOM thing but I havent had a period for a year, until I started HCG. That to me is a very unfortunate side effect that if I had known before I wouldnt have started the HCG. I despise periods and would get "fixed" if it didnt mean I had to go through menopausehttp://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...ies/tongue.png

JonatonM 06-22-2012 09:16 PM

Yeah, hcg has some side-effects there. http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...lies/smile.png I was spotting in between, again when starting P3, and now I was late. Luckily, I am not on the pill - that would have messed things up. But for me, it's a small prize to pay... and really, I can live with some irregularities for the next 8-12 month, while doing hcg. And I am already ecstatic that I didn't gain anything this time with TOM!

Well I am back to taking my birth control with my HCG. I shoot HCG in the am and take my birth control at night. I tried stopping it thinking perhaps that was causing me to stall but I was having such a heavy flow that I was getting light headed and dizzy. Now I'm taking my b/c again and its causing the flow to be lighter but it wont stop. I was fine the first week, my only side effects were hunger and headaches but these last 11 days i havent really had either of those.

Brutton 06-22-2012 09:32 PM

Headaches are usually carb detox - ugh, went though that as well. There is nothing wrong with taking birth control - just check fi things like a stomach flu would mess up its effectiveness. I know if I was on the micro pill, I would have to use condoms in addition when something like a flu (or hcg) interrupted my hormones. But it depends on the method... and I have been off bc for years, so I have no worries there.
