Default Communion Wine and Bread
Hi Fellow HCGers,

I'll be starting P2 in a couple of weeks and have a question. I partake in regular communion at our church weekly, which includes a sip of wine and small bite of flat bread. Does anyone have experience with this and did it cause you any problems?

Thanks!

I took communion last Sunday, but I use gluten free communion wafers (disgusting tasting crackers) that we dip in wine. I consider the communion wafer to be a breadstick and the wine isn't more than 1/8th of a tsp. I haven't stalled from it.

So anyway, take communion with a really small sip of wine and skip a breadstick/melba.

I do a tiny piece of challah and a tiny sip of wine each Friday. This is ritual... I wouldn't stop this for any diet in the world.

Thanks for the replies. Sweetiepie, I wouldn't want to stop this ritual either - for any diet in the world. Its nice to know you all do fine with it. Great advice, jmmrr, to skip my melba that day. Blessings, friends!

I do a tiny piece of bread and sip of wine. My two year old takes communion as well (he was baptized as a baby) and he loves the bread so he eats most of mine

I partake in communion. I consider my waffer a subsitution for my melba. There isn't enough wine to effect your progress.

No problems for me whatsoever either.
We believe that the wine and bread (we use real specially baked bread) really becomes the body and blood of Jesus so it would count as a protein LOL
Sorry if that offends
