Hello,
Title says it all. Since I have over 80 lbs to lose I thought I should have been one of the many, many people on here who I read have lost almost 30 lbs in the first 30 days. There are sooo many posts with these stats that I must admit to being a bit depressed that I am not one of them. I have not broken protocol at all. I know I do not always get 500 calories in, but Dr. S says it is OK to eliminate anything except the protein, so if I have not been hungry I did not force feed myself lol. I sometimes have had the melba, but have cut it out b/c I plan to be grain free. Many days I do not have fruit...I went 7 days without fruit to help get rid of a bad candida break out and since adding it back it has been only a few strawberries OR one apple in a day, never more than 1 fruit on the day I have one, which is not every day. I eat more fish than any other meat. I cut out lean hamburger a week ago after realizing that beef and tomatoe (as in chili) causes me to gain terribly ![]() I so wanted to be way into onederland by the 30 day mark and no way that can happen now, can't lose 7 lbs in 3 days. Is there *anything* I am missing?? I was up .4 today and can not figure out why. I drink at least 100 oz of water per day, not counting tea and occassional seltzer with Stevia flavoring. Can seltzer and Stevia cause slow losses or gains? Oh, I am also constipated now the past 4 or 5 days but I take magnesium. Can that cause a gain or a slow down? I hate to use anything for it, but this morning (warning: graphic info coming!) I had a *pebble* type come out but there was blood when I wiped so I know how hard they must be in there. Should I use a glycerin supp? I do not want to start on the path of laxatives for sure. Anything I may have at home to use to help? Thank you and I am not knocking the HCG protocol at all...plan to do this until I reach goal. I am just sad b/c I should have lost more this first month when I look at all the posts. |

It's VERY rare for women to lose a pound a day. You see it mentioned on here but trust me, it's not common. Women lose 25-28 pounds in 40 days. That's the norm, not what you've read about 30 pounds in 30 days. I've been on here for 3 1/2 years and I get so aggravated at the hype that's out there because it's not true. so just hang in there. I'd take a laxative for your other problem, something gentle like Dulcolax. Good luck!

I bet Colleen and I have each said it more than a hundred times each on this forum over the years....women lose on avg .5 to .75 lb per day over the course of a round. Everyone wishes to be one of the few who can avg more....but most women just can't do that. So Sherri, head up, you are actually doing better than avg!!
![]() I dont eat alot of protocol fish, but I do eat canned tuna packed in water....and I always lose on that. It's not in Simeon's manuscript, but tuna was only packed in oil in his day. That's my excuse, and it's worked well for me!!! ![]() |

Might be a good idea, Colleen....it seems we aren't saying it enough, doesn't it?
Sherri, how much magnesium are you taking? I think you need more....'cause if you are getting enough, there will be no more pebble stools....trust me. ![]() |

Thank you so very much Grammy! I guess I have to realize that to lose 5 lbs a week as I have done before...I would be doing major high intensity work outs for a couple of hours 7 days per week and now, that time is not sucked out of my day and if I get out of my own way I will see that this is working and my expectations were likely for something that could be considered miraculous for me
![]() So, thank you again and I can not imagine ever doing this without this forum and the help you provide! Sherri It's VERY rare for women to lose a pound a day. I did have chicken often when my fish ran out and I think it is just a bit slower than my fish days. What is so strange, is that one of the veggies really seems to affect me. It does not make sense and is really hard to believe it is possible, but the last 3 or 4 times I had 0 loss or a gain...I had eaten it the day before. So..I did not have it for a couple of weeks until yesterday and bam! I had a .4 gain this morning. So strange.
I am going to cut it out again and see if it is just coincidence. Our bodies sure have minds of their own! lol I know fish makes my losses slow significantly. Have you considered eating only chicken for your protein for a few days and see how you do? |

Thank you! It was a hard thing to learn for sure as *chili* was hands down my favorite thing to eat! lol I could have eaten it once a day every day...but this is teaching me to do without some foods and that *is* a good thing, afterall
![]() Look at your slower losses this way: you've learning what your body doesn't like (tomatoes and hamburger). This is really helpful. Had you been eating chicken, as well as fish, your losses may have been greater. You are experimenting and learning how food impacts your body - and, hopefully, will continue to incorporate this knowledge well after HCG. Stay on course with 40 days, you will lose more pounds and inches and continue to lose inches in P3/P4. |

Head up it is!
![]() LOL, unfortunately I only like canned tuna with mayo and relish LOL Although I do like fresh tuna, Ahi or yellowtail or...but I believe that is too oily for this plan! It is not a white fish, really LOL If it works for you then you are smart to listen to your body with no excuses ![]() I bet Colleen and I have each said it more than a hundred times each on this forum over the years....women lose on avg .5 to .75 lb per day over the course of a round. Truthfull, I only had a few left and now...darn if I can not find any around here ANYWHERE! It is driving me crazy *sigh*. The only mag by itself (w/o calcium) has a bunch of other junk/fillers like starches. I will have to order it online from somewhere that I can read the ingredients. The liquid around here has *natural flavor* and saccharin... not a good thing.
So I took Grammy's advice for today and got some Dulcolax to have on hand and did a more drastic um...enema this morning. It seemed to work fine, but sure gave me a back ache in a spot or two all day. I will have to see if that is normal lol. I know it had to be my colon I felt as my mom has colon cancer and before she knew what it was her back pain was in the same spot. That is one reason I decided to do HCG instead of say, South Beach and intense workouts. This should get the weight off faster and better and clean me out...all good things for avoiding cancer. I did pick up some senna tea in case it happens again. Says it is gentle and I love hot tea every night anyway. So...if the need happens again I will use it ![]() I use to eat SO much broccoli and cauliflower and other fiberous veggies and I was regular like clockwork, literally that I think my body just is not used to this lack of fiber all of a sudden. I will be ordering the 500 mg tabs asap as you suggested! Thank you ![]() Might be a good idea, Colleen....it seems we aren't saying it enough, doesn't it? |

EVERY time I have sparkling water or club soda with Stevia drops I STALL.
Don't know why. It's just the way it goes for me. Try drinking green tea and coffee with Truvia instead of carbonated liquids. It may work for you like it does for me. Also, green tea takes care of constipation for me. Good Luck! |

Hi,
That would be a bummer about the seltzer water! lol I don't do club soda b/c it has sodium but still..maybe something about carbonated water and Stevia just does not work. Guess I will go without for a few days...see how it goes and then add a glass to see if I gain... I do love to drink tea, and I have green tea a lot ![]() I only had my total 7 oz protein yesterday and about 1/4 cup of cabbage puree and gained .4 today! Yuck. After 3 days in a row of .6 loss each day. Bummer lol I was soooo looking forward to being in onederland this morning as I was just 201.6 yesterday, but this morning was 202.2. I know it will happen and I MUST stop *counting* on some goal to happen. I have decided to just let happen what will and stay on protocol. Thank you for the reply and I may up my green tea and see if it helps! EVERY time I have sparkling water or club soda with Stevia drops I STALL. |
