The protocol says not to do the injections while on your period. I stopped for the time I was on, continued to lose weight and then resumed and all is going well.

The protocol says no, the people I am doing this through said it was ok to continue. They say it is ok to stop because your body naturally produces higher level of hCG during your time of the month. I didn't stop and every worked out fine. I didn't loose for about two days because I was retaining water, but that was the only effect. I know a few other women who also did not stop and they had pretty much the same experience as I did. It really is up to you. You can try one way this time, and if you decide to do the p2 again then try another. Everyone has different chemistry.

Hi missy

Here is what Dr S say about Menstruation:

Menstruation
During menstruation no injections are given, but the diet is continued and causes no hardship; yet as soon as the menstruation is over, the patients become extremely hungry unless the injections are resumed at once. It is very impressive to see the suffering of a woman who has continued her diet for a day or two beyond the end of the period without coming for her injection and then to hear the next day that all hunger ceased within a few hours after the injection and to see her once again content, florid and cheerful. While on the question of menstruation it must he added that in teenaged girls the period may in some rare cases be delayed and exceptionally stop altogether. If then later this is artificially induced some weight may be regained.

I do know that most women just inject through thier cycle and only skip the 1 day a week. But I would do it as Dr S says.

Bob, why do you skip one day a week on the hcg injections?

Hi broxnchuxmom

On the 23-day protocol you DO NOT skip a day, on the 43-day Protocol you do skip a day.

"Here is what Dr S says in his "pounds and inches"

"Patients who require more than the minimum of 23 injections and who therefore skip one day a week in order to postpone immunity to HCG"

Bob, the doctor that I went to told me that my vial of HCG had 40 doses, but because of what gets wasted in the top of the syringes, there ends up being about 32 doses. In your opinion, is it ok to go 32 days instead of 23 or 43? I have been taking an injection every day for 15 days.

Yea, Dr S say a minimum of 23 injections up to 40. We and lots of others have gone past the 40 a little without issue so anything in between should be fine.

If we are going to 34 days, (on our first round), do we need to skip a day? My husband skipped a day and was so ornery and hungry that I'm scared to do that to both parents for our kids sake. Does doing the injections during your period make you more likely to become immune?

Hi trezspritz

I don't think I would skip a day if you are doing 34 injections, but if you were to extend it to 40 or more and need to do another round to lose more weight, I would skip a day.

Skipping a day should not have an effect on your husband as the hcg is still in your system, so why was he hungry and ornery?

Are you getting enough hCG? What is the dose and how is he talking it?

We are doing 150 iu a day and we are putting it in to our thigh muscle with an insulin needle, which I believe is intramuscular. Should we both be able to do a urine pregnancy test and come up positive? My husband did one and it was negative. Maybe we got ripped off buying our hcg? By the way, Bob, thank you for doing what you do.

I know this thread is very old, but hopefully my answer will reach anyone wondering this question.

There is not enough hcg in urine from the hcg protocol to be present on a pregnancy test. If you want to find out about your hcg being any good, you can test your hcg directly onto a pregnancy test.
