What's a "normal" loss pattern?

I'm especially interested in those who were 20-30 lbs from their goal. I lost about 7 lbs the first week. Then, I had a no-loss day followed by small losses (.2 and .4) and then, a full pound, followed by another no-loss day. It's kind of frustrating when I do the same thing day in and day out. I eeked out 3 lbs the second week. Is this normal--or was it for you?

My understanding is that women lose about .5-1 lb per day. Personally, I think it is a mistake to focus too much on each day or even each week, but to always calculate the overall average. I think a lot of people have slow downs but still lose a good amount cumulatively. I wanted to lose about 25 lbs, and I lost 20. I found it really frustrating to have days of .2 losses (and I never had big losses after the first week), but my overall loss average was .5 a day, so I am satisfied with that.

This is my first VLCD so I can't tell how is my loss so far. But my goal is 30lb too, so we can keep updating each other. I have done some research in case of slow loss or stall, you can always try to do a detox bath, which is adding 1 cup of epsom and 1 cup of baking soda to hot water as hot as you can stand for 20 mins. Be aware that you might feel light headed once you get out of the bath. Most people said they will have significant loss on the next day. I will do it once a week to get rid of the excess water and toxins that build up in the cells when the fat is gone. In fact, I have already try it out without doing the diet, I feel pretty good the next day. Remember to drink a lot of water, wrap your body with towel or robe once u get out of the bath and lay down till you feel fine.

Totally typical pattern. You're lucky you lost 3 pounds the 2nd week. Many totally stall out that week. Women typically lose about 25-28 pounds in 6 weeks. I usually lose about 20. But what other diet lets you lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks--and from WHERE you need to lose it? NO OTHER. http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...lies/smile.png

You are all so right! Thanks for reassuring me http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...lies/smile.png

And yes, Colleen. I absolutely need to keep that in mind. I've always had luck losing with Weight Watchers or counting calories, but after my fifth baby (a year ago), it just wasn't working. I definitely think that imbalanced hormones and inflammation were the reasons for that. This diet has not only helped lose weight, but also reduced the inflammation in my body (allergic reactions, skin problems have gone away) and I'm not on that endless blood sugar-insulin cycle any more. Plus I've lost almost 12 lbs as of today!

Thanks for the reality check, friends!

Birdee-Jess, I'd love to keep up with you! My weight right now is 142.7. Goal is 125-130. I'm 5'5".

That bath sounds a bit like water torture tbh.. I definitely slow down whenever I feel lightheaded so inflicting it on myself doesn't seem like fun.

Desertmom- I'm 5'5" too, but up to 174 atm, goal is 140-135, I want to keep my boobs! Plus I'm a curvy girl anyway (hourglass figure), and my weight is very well proportioned. About 2 years ago I lost 30lbs in 3 months on NutriSystem, but I'm finding the HCG diet is much simpler. No nasty processed foods, little to no hunger... awesome! Congrats on your loss, hope to see those numbers in the next few weeks.

Thanks, hollyc303. I'm a curvy girl, too. Alas, my five babies have stolen my boobs and I'm afraid there is no hope for them http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...ies/tongue.png Good luck to you!!

I kept good records on my first round, but I haven't since then. The first round, I averaged .47 lbs lost per day. Later rounds were a little higher, about .55-.6 as I remember. I lost 6.2 lbs by day 7 of vlcd; 3.7 lbs in the next 7 days; and 2.8 lbs in the next 7 days. I had a 5 day stall that 3rd week. I had about 62 lbs to lose.

Hi Guys!

I'm 5'5 too and have 50 pounds to lose. My first week I lost 7.3, 2'nd week lost 3.6 but stalled for 3 days, today I began week 3 and lost .5 from stall. I guess we are all on the right track! You would think taking in only 500 calories that the weight would just fly off our gorgeous bodies...but it aint happenin. But I am focusing on the end result and from what I hear it is going to be FANTASTIC!!! So, hang in there everyone...We all have new wardrobes and hot bodies to look forward to!!
