You should not be eating yogurt. It will substantially slow your losses. Some can use splenda but it's a poison to your body. It affects your immune system. I avoid splenda and nutrasweet. Sweet n low and stevia are allowed on protocol.

Lol great. Somebody said i can use cottage cheese, now I learned I cant. Then others on here say non-fat yogurt is good, and now its not.

I'm at a loss. Seriously this diet is ridiculous for vegetarians.

Did the cottage cheese make you gain? I ate 2% cottage cheese on P2 as a change-up for proteins. Dr S did have that listed on protocol for occasional use.

No. But Celeste, which is the girl im using drops from, said that I cant use cottage cheese. Others on here said I could, but since shes the one i get the stuff from , I'm going with her advice. Then i heard non-fat yogurt was okay to use. But i guess not. Before this, I just had 1 serving of skim milk. 1 cup of skim milk for my protein. Which i guess if this yogurt thing doesn't work out, the ill just do that.

Right now I eat

- 1 cup of vegetables (brocolli or lettuce or celery)
- 2 small apples
- 2 grisinnni breadsticks

and the last one is either 1 cup of skim mlik, half a cup of non fat cottage cheese, or 1 serving of non-fat yogurt.

And I take 6 drops 3 times a day of her drops. Hers is 4X4 but it helps me with hunger when i change it to 6X3

Milk isn't allowed either. If you're a vegetarian, you'll lose better if you use a protein drink. And cut out the grissini. Most lose better without it.

Whey protein perhaps? What liquid should I put it in? I tried it in water and it tastes horrible.

Also what should i switch my grains with? melba toast?

You lose best without grains. I only know about putting water in the protein. Anything else is going to stall you.

Well, you do know more about this diet than I do, so what the heck, I might as well do it. Maybe stevia sweetners would make it taste better? I looked and i guess you can order it online.

But no grains? I thought you had to have grains as part of this diet? So I should eliminate the melba toast and grisinni completely?

So my diet would be..

1 serving of whey protein in water
2 small apples
1 cup of veggies

and thats it?

Grammy, would you suggest that she try the cottage cheese or eggs occasionally? I swear reading this thread worries me that you are gonna starve to death.

Hi,
I was reading your posts and wanted to respond. I read all I could about this diet before I started it. The book "Pounds and Inches" answered all of my questions and you can down load it online. Broccoli according to protocol is NOT one of the vegetables. I am surprised no one told you that. I have been on this diet since the 6th (loading until the 8th) I have lost 10.6 pounds. Today I lost nothing. I eat 3.5 oz of one protein on list for lunch and a different protein for dinner. I eat 2 cups of spinache, asparagus or cabbage...sometimes cucumber. whatever veggie I eat for lunch I eat a different one for dinner. I do not eat the melba toast. I have a cup of strawberries with mineral water and crushed ice mixed in blender with chocolate stevia drops for mid morning snak. YUM!!! That usually carries me to lunch. I drink a TON of water. Enough to float. I also drink Pelligrino water with chocolate or vanilla stevia drops. YUM tastes like soda I shouldn't be having. It really is a treat. After dinner I will have an apple. Today since I stalled my coach put me on the apple diet today. 5-6 apples and water. Thats it. Can NOT wait for this day to be OVER!!! LOL. Listen, read as much as you can and download the book. Get it rom the source. Have a great day!

Hi Again,

I was curious about your post. I thought you could only have two cups of the permited veggis. Yet you are telling this girl she could have as much as she wants. Can you please clarify.

Thanks.

Eggs yes but cottage cheese can be more problematic. It's way higher in carbs. Young one with lots of muscle mass sometimes lose okay with it but I've seen so many gain on it that I'm always hesitant about it.

ljm, the calories in the veggies are negligible. There is nothing in the protocol that says to measure your veggies and most of us can't eat that much of them anyway with our meal. Simeon says a handful. That depends on how big your hand is! LOL Mine could hold a couple of cups for a serving. They are a good way to try to get closer to the 500 calories though. Add them up though and you'll see how little they are.

Hi Colleen,

I have another question for you. My coach put me on apple day after a one day stall. I read one of your posts that said I could possible GAIN from this. I was also told to drink TONS of water and that I could have coffee. Both of which I did. I read on the forum "stalling" and it said very little water and that is the only liquid. It also said to spread the apples over 24 hours. I have eaten 4 apples and it is 7:21pm. i was going to eat another one at 8 or so. Am I to also carry this through tomorrows lunch? I am so confused and if I gain I think I will cry!

Thanks.
