Default South Beach Phase I
My doctor (who I get the injections from) suggests that I go on the South Beach Diet Phase I after I finish the injections. I thought this was strange since everyone on here goes on P3. Does anyone here have any opinions on this? Has anyone done the South Beach after?

I've not done SB after HCG but it would kill me to do SB Phase 1 after doing HCG Phase 2.

SB Phase 1 is incredibly restrictive, imo. No fruit. Now, SB Phase 2 would be do-able. Very similar to HCG Phase 3.

Are you sure your doc said SB Phase ONE?

Yes, they definitely said Phase 1. I was kinda of disappointed, but compared to P2, I would take anything I guess. I am just wondering why they would do things so differently since everything else was so according to protocol.

I'd ask some more about why the doc wants you to go on SB rather than stay with protocol...me, personally, I'd stick with P3.

Isn't P3 like following more of an atkins program?? I think SB is not so restrictive with carbs

SBD phase 2 allows for some carbs to be put back in slowly. Some fruit, some rice, whole grain breads etc. Your choice, so phase 2 of SB would not be OK for p3 of HCG.

Phase 1 of SB is no starch, NO FRUIT, no sugar etc. but on the plan P1 only lasts 2 weeks, just to get rid of the cravings. P2 and P3 of HCG allows for some fruit in each phase.

I think the doctor either wants you to have some grains or forgot how P2 of SB works.

When I am finished with my HCG...all the way, I will do A LOT of the South Beach recipes! They are awesome! I will not, however, do grains much, however.

(I lost 42 lbs in 3 months on SB and would have kept going if we were not staying with my inlaws for 18 months after that. They had health problems we stayed to spend time with them, but they no longer have much of a kitchen and I was always in the way and they never approved of the money it costs to eat healthy )

So, I am now going to do HCG and like I said, then I will use their recipes a lot, yummy.
