Default Weight Loss on a Load Day??
I did the best I could yesterday (my first load day), but found I'd lost .6 oz. this morning. How did this happen & will it effect anything? Honestly, I made a complete pig of myself today, trying to make up for yesterday. I feel awful, too. I can't wait to get started tomorrow so I can just feel better.

I lost .2 on my 2nd load day of my first round. Had only gained .8 the first day. First 3-4 VLCD were rough, but i ended up losing 21 pounds in 36 days. This was on the drops.

On my first round, I lost weight on my load days too. I was miserable for about 5 days, just totally starving. This time, I loaded and gained 2.5, the first few days were so much easier! Try eating as late as possible, maybe a milkshake or something else very rich and filling. Don't hold back on loading, it's in the protocol for a reason. Good Luck and happy eating!

Load days require FAT, FAT, FAT AND MORE FAT. Loading up on candy, soda, beer, wine.....doesnt count. Just because you can load, you need to do as much fat as possible.

Dr. S mentions both carbs AND fats. When I load only with fats, I'm hungry the first day or two. Fats aren't going to fill up normal fat deposits for many of us. That's why Atkins works. Here's what he says. Note the first two things he mentions are carbs. Bread also.

While we know that no stomach ever shrinks, we compromise by insisting that they eat frequently of highly concentrated foods such as milk chocolate, pastries with whipped cream sugar, fried meats (particularly pork), eggs and bacon, mayonnaise, bread with thick butter and jam, etc. The time and trouble spent on pressing this point upon incredulous or reluctant patients is always amply rewarded afterwards by the complete absence of those difficulties which patients who have disregarded these instructions are liable to experience.

Okay, so yesterday (load day 2), everything I ate was so fat filled, it left me feeling disgusting. Prepare to be amazed I'm still breathing:

1 Big Mac
1 Filet o' Fish with extra sauce
2 Cheddar Peppers with ranch
some onion rings
a large order of Chili Cheese Fries
2 egg rolls
2 crab rangoons
a large portion of general tso's chicken
a large portion of sesame beef

I had very little to drink yesterday because I wanted to fill up on food. That had to be at least 3000 calories! AND I LOST AGAIN! I weighed in at .12 oz. less than yesterday. WTH!?

ShannyB- I lost 2.5 lbs my first load day. I had A&W twice, half a 7 layer bean dip, home made bannana cream pie, a whole avocado, and went to baby shower full of finger foods....not only that the begining of the day my jeans were tight, end of the day I could pull them off without unbuttoning them, that actually made me cry! haha
It was as if my butt sucked itself in. I was not at all hungry even though i lost weight on load days.
Granted this was my first ever round.
Second round I gained! ha but then my body probably had a bit of memory of being on hcg from the first time, so slightly different results second time.

But Ive heard this happening to many...losing on load days and its isnt abnormal, Enjoy it!

I am on my first load day...I sure hope this is going to work!!! I feel like a pig today! Here is what I ate on day 1:

coffee w/ cream and sugar
2 1/2 Krispie Kreme donuts
1 In N Out Cheeseburger
french fries
reg. chocolate shake
2 pieces of Spanish chorizo
1 tamale
salad with wishbone Italian dressing
big scoop of Baskin Robbins mint chocolate chip ice scream
8 thin mint Girl Scout cookies
milk

that was the best I could do today and I feel aweful about it...I am already feeling an aversion to this kind of food!!!
Does it sound like I did enough??? I still have one more day to go!

btw...bought my scale late in the day, so I did not weigh yet.

This thread seems a little old, so still hoping for some response. I'm a bit nervous because despite my inner piggy - and loading to the point where DH was disgusted - I still managed to lose a total of 3.2 lbs during my load days. What gives? I was expecting massive gains - ESPECIALLY considering I have avoided these foods due to gains in general in the past. Will I still lose weight? I'm on doctor supervised injections, and some kind of chromium/magnesium/benzocaine pill 3x's per day to numb hunger pangs, and I get a b12 shot once a week! Ahhhh! I feel like I should be celebrating this loss - but instead I'm a little freaked out!

I wouldn't worry about it. My doctor told me that for the most part, it's water you're holding onto during your loading days. I think as long as you are doing the best you can, you will be just fine. I didn't gain during my load days either, I just maintained. Look at it as thought the hormone is doing it's job.
