First week really light loss
Hi all, this was my first full week of 500 cal after the loading days and I have only lost 7lbs. I am using the injections, administered by a PA. Should I complain? I feel if it is this slow now I am in real trouble later. I have never cheated, and I am still really pretty hungry. Any ideas. I do have a lot to loose so it is not like I am close to my goal weight to begin with. Any guidance would be appreciated. I go to see them tomorrow for the next set of shots. They give 6 and you skip a day. Thank you!!!

So VLCD7 and you have lost 7 pounds? That is pretty daggone good! A pound a day. The average for this diet is .5-1 pound a day over the length of the round.
I don't know of any other diets you have been on, but have you ever been on one in which you lost 7 pounds in 1 week? Honestly, this has been an amazing ride for me; who would think you could lose 23 pounds in 30 days??! How cool is THAT?? Hunger is a different issue. I had a little hunger issue this weekend, and I realized I was accidentally dosing myself too high (good thing I wasn't shooting up heroin, right??). And dealing with hunger is just plain unpleasant. I realized my problem and knew what my good dosage already was, so I dropped my dose myself, and I feel so MUCH better today that it isn't even funny. What is your actual dose? Not necessarily how much is in your syringe, because it could be mixed at the clinic to be stronger or to be weaker, but what is the iu (international units) of your dose. If you don't know, give them a call today and find out. (That's important info for you to know, anyway.) |
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I guess I was upset because I gained 2 pounds with the load so I figure it is only 5 of loss. I will try to stay positive. It probably makes it harder being hungry. It is so confusing if you are on too much or too little you are hungry. How do you know? I called the place but no call back yet. The syringe says 1.5 but of course it is mixed there. I did not even realize you could do this yourself. On LI there are a few places but that is the only way I knew how to get it.

I know it can be frustrating watching a lot of folks lose big numbers. I am now on VLCD15 (no cheats) and am only down 9.8# but I figure that I am still losing and in two weeks that isn't bad considering how slow it goes on other diets I have tried. A couple of things I have seen on here that have boosted my numbers a bit.
1. Don't eat the melba or grissini 2. Substitute 1 fruit with an extra portion of protein. These two thinks have helped me go from a 0.4 average loss per day in the first week to a 0.8 average loss per day the second week. Hang in there!!!! |
You are doing pretty good! I lose only 4.2lb for my first week exclude loading weight.
