Default Testimonial to (hopefully) Help Some Stressed Newbies!
I just have to say this because I'm seeing way too many posts about wanting to quit and give up and how hard this is.
My first week was awesome and hellish all at the same time. I had the most monstrous headaches. I hadn't loaded correctly, I was told to wait and start my injections AFTER my 2 load days. AND I was on the wrong dose, but we didn't know that at the time. However, I was losing 1 - 1.5 pounds every day that first week.
The next weekend, I cheated. BIG TIME. I told myself that eating the way I wanted one day out of the week wouldn't affect anything. Well it did, I stalled for two weeks!!! HUGE waste of time. I'm sure it wasn't the cheating alone, but the fact that I was starving 24-7. I was never NOT hungry. I'd wake up in the middle of the night craving anything and everything. Stomach cramps, I thought my big intestine must be eating my little one... The only reason I stuck with it that first week through the headaches was because I was losing. The only reason I stuck through week 2 and 3 was because of the sweet ladies on this site!!!
We finally kept upping my dose till I wasn't hungry anymore. I quit cheating. I completely lost 2 weeks, but put it behind me. Since I stuck with it I have lost anywhere from 1-2.5 pounds each day for the last week. I was going to bail after 23 injections (out of 40 intended) but now that things are going so well, I may very well extend it.

MORAL OF THE STORY - Give it time! As frustrating as it is, and as much as we want it to be easy, it's a long hard road, but it's a HELL of a lot easier, quicker and safer than traditional weight loss methods. Be strong. Have willpower. Post positive messages to yourself all over the house. Buy the skinny jeans you wish you could wear because chances are by the time you're done with this, you CAN! Go ahead and look at yourself in the mirror! Notice the improvements. Don't be afraid to measure. It's amazing to watch those bad parts of you melt away while the parts you want to keep stay put! And take pride in the fact that you are doing something good for YOU that will help you feel better, better your life, give you a higher quality of life and most likely keep you alive to enjoy that happy life a lot longer.
Thank you to all my friends here.

I finally got down to 229 today, from 301, so that's 72 pounds, the farthest I've gotten on this diet is 72 pounds,
I've been at this point since November, because of p3 and p4 then restarted, lost 19 on this round.

Reading the post above I do remember when I first started out on HCG and I just wanted, "something!" to eat, somethinggggggggg, I would drink sparkling water with flavor and go to bed. I went to bed early a lot those first 6 weeks, that's when I lost 40 pounds.

If I get to 228 tomorrow it will be a new record for me.

Well, I have not seen the posts about people wanting to quit. I thought I was the only one that had begun to feel like I couldn't do this. I'm getting help and encouragement from you on this forum. I am switching today to injections after 10 daysof S/L. My S/L mixture should have lasted 15 days, but ran out before 10, which the gals have said was probably the problem - being dosage was too high. So I start with a remix and so hope that will make the difference for me.

I will say I have had little snatches of the "feeling of well being/not hungry" described by most everyone else. But most of my 10 days, I have struggled, just putting one foot in front of the other in a fog of - can't really explain the feeling.......the hunger and weakness was there, but not the worse thing I was dealing with. foggy, jittery....just the total opposite of 'well being'. Then yesterday when nausea showed up, I was ready to quit.

It's occurring to me that there is serious "science" to this protocol - hard to believe for it to start with that tiny, little bit of freeze-dried matter. And, for what - if you are describing to someone - sounds like nonsense. But looking at the vlogs on youtube, the results are phenomenal. (CONGRATS, Ellie on 72lbs!!!!Wow!) So I plan to focus in on more precision in my measuring and such.

From the beginning, I have switched out scales (trying to find one that measures body fat%), so weighing each morning has not been on the same scale. But I think there have been consistent losses as well as I can tell - averaging maybe about a lb. a day. If I can stick with it and it continues at that rate, this time next week I will be knocking at the door of "ONEderland". I have not seen the under side of 200 in more than 10 years. It's a little troubling that the 7 or so lb. loss is not anything I can see. Hopefully, though, this will change.

The help and support here, the vlogs on youtube - this makes the difference in quitting or going on to success. How VALUABLE is that!!! Far more so than if paying big bucks to a clinic or organizations like Wt. Watchers, etc.

So thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!! And ONWARD AND UPWARD(or downward=]), brave warriors! Let's do it together!!

Squirrel, that's where the measuring tape comes in handy!!! I was irritated that I couldn't see much difference, but I finally broke down and weighed myself (after 3 weeks) and I'd lost 12 inches (combined) from day 1! I couldn't believe it. Other people can see it, even if it's just a matter of our pants fitting a tad looser. I think we're all used to seeing our huge selves in the mirror, that even when others can see the differences, we can't see them ourselves. We don't perceive our bodies the way the rest of the world views us. We are our harshest critics. Just trust in the numbers and eventually you will see and feel it too!
Congrats on being that close to Onederland! that is a HUGE accomplishment!

what an awesome testimonybs2010hcg!!!! I am watching the Heroes vs Villians Survivor show (go Colby!) and when I get pissed at a day of weight loss of .2lbs I keep telling myself that I cant quit, Im on an island and have no way off until the end of the 23 day protocol (and no one but me can vote me off!)...so I have no choice but to suck it up...so far it seems to be working for me. Im on vlcd 11 and have lost 10.2 lbs!

oncemore- No kiddin huh! Lol I love that island idea! I feel like I'm jail somedays. hehe Mostly because I know I can't follow protocol if I venture out of the house so technically.... yeah. I'm in jail. haha Whatever works! I find myself reading the nutritional facts on the back of bread/candybars/etc when I go grocery shopping and think - "It's not worth it!" 1 candybar is half my allowed 500 cal. and sooo not allowed.

My kids love sweets and chips. I had to help my son bake Monster cookies the other night....the smell was absolute HEAVEN, but I was content just to smell them all through the house. Also when I get Ruffles for them I just enjoy the SMELL and not the calories...LOL Oh! at least on the island there is sunshine, white sandy beaches and blue water...so go there instead of jail!

It may be fairly easy to start cutting out the sweets at this point! With my kids, they were so interested in what I was doing, they forgot about their own food, and they'd rather eat mine now. I think a gallon of milk lasts us about 2 weeks becaues they'd rather drink water. They snack on apples and strawberries and tomatoes. I still get them carrot sticks even though I cant' have them. They're 5 and 6 and at this point, they could care less about the sweets! Maybe a great time to train the kiddos to eat healthy too. Lol Powers of persuasion.

wow never thought about that..I have been in stealth mode...not wanting my 11 year old daughter to know that I am trying to lose weight ( I am 5'2 and weigh 123.8 lbs today, down from 134 lbs) dont want her to be f***ed in the head like me... I am working with her on the sweets and carbs thing because she is a CARBAHOLIC, would never eat meat or veggies if I didn't force her to...

yeah, I hear you there. BUT, there's a difference between dieting to lose weight, and dieting to be healthy. Of course, we're doing both, but the kids don't need to know that! Lol Just quit buying that stuff and they'll quit eating it.

My younger childeren have been a huge inspiration to me. They love it that I am losing weight. Apparently comments about my weight had been said by other children, which is quite funny, seeing as I am smaller than most of the mothers of their friends. Anyway, I digress.

I tell my children that eating the way I do while on protocol, re-teaches my body which foods are best for it and gets me healthier. I now see them making better choices as well, which is good seeing as my son used to think veggies are alien inventions sent to kill us and sugar and carbs are the nectar of the gods sent to make us happy.
