I just have to say this because I'm seeing way too many posts about wanting to quit and give up and how hard this is.
My first week was awesome and hellish all at the same time. I had the most monstrous headaches. I hadn't loaded correctly, I was told to wait and start my injections AFTER my 2 load days. AND I was on the wrong dose, but we didn't know that at the time. However, I was losing 1 - 1.5 pounds every day that first week. The next weekend, I cheated. BIG TIME. I told myself that eating the way I wanted one day out of the week wouldn't affect anything. Well it did, I stalled for two weeks!!! HUGE waste of time. I'm sure it wasn't the cheating alone, but the fact that I was starving 24-7. I was never NOT hungry. I'd wake up in the middle of the night craving anything and everything. Stomach cramps, I thought my big intestine must be eating my little one... The only reason I stuck with it that first week through the headaches was because I was losing. The only reason I stuck through week 2 and 3 was because of the sweet ladies on this site!!! We finally kept upping my dose till I wasn't hungry anymore. I quit cheating. I completely lost 2 weeks, but put it behind me. Since I stuck with it I have lost anywhere from 1-2.5 pounds each day for the last week. I was going to bail after 23 injections (out of 40 intended) but now that things are going so well, I may very well extend it. MORAL OF THE STORY - Give it time! As frustrating as it is, and as much as we want it to be easy, it's a long hard road, but it's a HELL of a lot easier, quicker and safer than traditional weight loss methods. Be strong. Have willpower. Post positive messages to yourself all over the house. Buy the skinny jeans you wish you could wear because chances are by the time you're done with this, you CAN! Go ahead and look at yourself in the mirror! Notice the improvements. Don't be afraid to measure. It's amazing to watch those bad parts of you melt away while the parts you want to keep stay put! And take pride in the fact that you are doing something good for YOU that will help you feel better, better your life, give you a higher quality of life and most likely keep you alive to enjoy that happy life a lot longer. Thank you to all my friends here. ![]() |
