Default How bad would it be to go to benihana for a birthday during phase 2?
I have a $30 certificate from benihana that I only have until March 1st to use. This is available once a year during the month of my birthday.
How bad would it be to go out to dinner at benihanas one time during phase 2? I haven't cheated at all during the diet up to this point.
Thanks

My first choice would be to call the Benihana and ask to speak to the manager. Tell him that you really would love to use your birthday certificate, but that you are on a restricted diet for another month and would it be possible to get an extension on the gift certificate.

My second choice would be to give it to some really good friends and tell them to enjoy it!

My third choice would be to google menu items. You don't even want to know how many grams of carb are in the shrimp dipping sauce. Call ahead and ask if menu items can be prepared without soy sauce and without oil or butter. If they can, then go and order a steam or chicken, and a salad with no dressing. (Personally, I wouldn't be able to do this. I do love a Japanese steak house.)

But bottom line - is $30 worth the great probability of putting yourself behind 3-4 days - or more?

Very informative response and some great ideas there!
I will try extending the certificate. With any luck I can get it to coincide with my loading days for Round 2 next month; that'd be perfect.
If that doesn't work, I will just skip going, because you're very right. My losses are going well and I would hate to ruin that.

Thanks!

Being practical and righteous isn't fun at all, though.

It would be way more fun to go out for a night of yummy food. But it will be an even bigger thrill to not dread the scale the next morning and to see another loss instead of a gain - and a lifelong thrill to know that you did something so much better for yourself.

I think you made the best choice (even though it is the one that sucks the most!).

Well said and thanks for the support!

You're right, I'd be devastated if I gained back 3 or 4 days of losses, which would be totally easy on a meal like that.
