Day 1 almost over - What did I get myself into....

Right now I am hating this diet. I have done 700 calorie a day diets with no problems. But this is hard. I have had a headache all day that 800 milligrams of Motrin wont cure. I have been weak and very hungry. I have been so hungry it makes me feel sick. I hope it gets better because right now I am ready to quit already. Not sure this HCG is doing anything for me to cure my hunger. After I ate lunch I was ok. Then 2 hours later I feel bad again. I ate dinner and I was ok but now 2 hours later I feel awful again. I just need a little more food.

My wife is doing this with me and she was fine all day. She is 160 pounds and I am 350 pounds. Maybe I need to up my dose because I am so much bigger than her....... We both figured she would have a hard time because she has never done a stirct diet like this. I went 6 months on 700 calories per day a few years ago. But she is fine and I am not.... Any suggestions?

We are both doing a 1/2 cc of HCG mixed with Saline (Wound Wash) twice per day. We are on our 3rd day of the HCG.

How long are you holding it under your tongue? That kind of hunger is usually a dose too high.

machpamb 02-25-2012 02:25 AM

Don't give up yet! Your dose may need adjusting (I know nothing about SL), and it isn't uncommon for people to have some hunger the first few days. (Headaches too)

You have more willpower than this, Mike! You can stick this out a few more days - you know you can! Hopefully someone comes on who can give SL dosing advice.

Finkevannon 02-25-2012 02:42 AM

Good luck. Just remember how good it will be in a few weeks when you have lost 20 pounds!!! Hang in there. You can do it!!

GtmFeqJJ 02-25-2012 10:22 PM

I need to take 200iu in order not to be starving. But I inject. I know that with sub-lingual that you need a much larger dose. You should not be starving. I started with sub and I too was hungry ALL THE TIME!!! I was not in ketosis either. You might want to check for this. So I started injections on my 7th day. My husband and I are both doing it. He has great results from the sub so he is still using that. Injections just works better for me. Hope this helps

How's it going, Mike?

I haven't quit. I lost 10 pounds in the last 2 days. Hunger pains are a little better but I am still hungry. I increased my dose of hcg today. Maybe that will help. I hold the medicine under my tongue for 10 minutes. Should I increase my dose or just add another dose mid day?

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement. It really means alot to me. U guys are great.

gogFloark 02-27-2012 01:10 AM

5 minutes is long enough to hold it and I wouldn't have increased the dose. Skip a day of your hcg to see whether you need to go down or up. BAD hunger is usually from a dose that is too high, not one that's too low. If you skip a day, you'd feel better by evening if you need to lower your dose.

And you don't have to be in ketosis, legb, just so you know. I have done 5 rounds and have never been in ketosis. It's more a matter of how well your sugar metabolism works. 2 fruits a day is too much for me to ever be in ketosis.

Another 3 pounds today.... Total of 13 pounds in 3 days..... But I dont know if I can stayt on the diet much longer. I am close to cheating. I am sooooo hungry. Maybe I should skip tomorows dose of HCG and see what happens.... Any thoughts? If I feel better then what should I do?

I am on day 5 of the drops. 3rd day of the diet. My weight loss is fine. I am down 13 pounds already (345 starting). My wife is doing this with me. She is half my size (170 starting) and she has lost 6 pounds. She is doing great. Not hungry at all and told me she thinks it is not hard at all...

I on the other hand am ready to quit. This is horrible. I have done 700 calorie diets in the past and lost lots of weight with no medication. I had no problem. I was never hungry. But so far I am starving all the time. I have hunger pains and I feel nausea from the hunger. I have had headaches ever since I the first day of the diet. Even Motrin wont get rid of the headaches.

I have been taking .5 cc of Hucog HCG mixed with Saline. I know it is correct because it is working for my wife so well..... Since I am larger and I have been starving I increased the dose by .3 cc. I just took a mid afternoon dose yesterday and today with the extra .3cc.....

Obviously you know nothing about this protocol GFA. Anyhow, WHY are you on an HCG forum if you are not interested in and/or taking HCG? Don't come on here spouting things you know nothing about. This protocol works...all Mike has to do is get his dosage proper for his body...

To MIke...don't be discouraged...you CAN do this, and you WILL be successful at it.

You are 350 lbs and eating 700 cals, of course you are starving. You can eat 2500 cals a day and still be in a major deficit. It boggles my mind that men would even think about doing this diet.

Read up on nutrition, eat at a deficit, lift 3x a week and do some cardio. The weight will come off quick especially at 350 lbs.

The guys on biggest loser eat 1500 cals a day. They also lift an hour a day and do hours of cardio. Point being they are eating 2x as many cals as you are and drop on average 5-10 lbs a week.

Here let me help you out and show you this is a not a long term way to lose weight.

Eat 2k cals tomorrow (WAY below maintenance for a 350lb man), a few slices of pizza and watch 10 lbs come back on the next day. 13 lbs in 3 days = 10+ lbs of water.
Seriously? You are going to come on an HCG diet forum and bash it? That's pretty stupid. You also didn't do a very good job of reading what he had posted. He said he had done 700 calorie diets previously. If you actually knew anything about the diet itself, instead of simply talking out of your ass, you would know that when your dose is correct you feel NO HUNGER, regardless of it being a low calorie diet. It's so great you have figured out the secret to losing weight except, oh wait! The reason most people do this diet is because THAT WAY DOESN'T WORK FOR THEM. There are tons of people on this forum that have never been able to lose the traditional way, and I am one of them. HCG has been a lifesaver for me. Men actually lose at a higher rate than women, and the diet has proven to be more effective for them than women.

Here let me help you out and tell you that if you don't support the diet (and don't actually know sh*t about the science behind it) then GET OF THE HCG DIET FORUM AND PISS OFF.*

*Sorry for the harsh language, but MAN this crap gets me angry...

Mike, instead of listening to this person (GFA), talk to one of the guys here. There are plenty. Check out the Man Cave in the Groups section. And sure, do the research yourself, read Pounds and Inches. Dr. S said that this worked for both men and women. Just like a nay sayer to dive for the crotch having never done this for him/herself.

At my heaviest, I too was 350. I started this at 325 and in 18 days have lost more than 30 lbs, the funny of it all is that I say I am losing like a man.

Good luck.

The Men's Den!

Men's chatbox

Wondering how men do on HCG

How about a men's section?

Hey guess what, I found a bunch of threads about men doing the HCG diet. Go figure.

AnimeThat 02-28-2012 12:46 AM

You know what, Mike, I'm not even going to bother with this guy anymore. It's just not worth it. Bottom line-the diet works once you're on the right dose. Try it for yourself and make your own assessment. You do what ultimately works for you. A lot of people have struggled with weight issues for a long time and HCG has been a saving grace for them. Do it for yourself and make your own decision about it. Best to you, Mike, stay strong!

Don't get discouraged. I was really hungry at the beginning of my round but it's subsided a lot after the first few days. I also had to lower my dose like grammy suggested. Just hang in there. It's awesome that it's so easy for your wife but you shouldn't feel bad about it being hard for you. Like everything else in life there are a ton of people here that don't have a problem at all and there are plenty who do have a hard time. It's different for everyone. Just keep working with grammy (master in dosing) and keep checking in here so we can offer you some motivation!

Thank you Jarret for removing the personal attacks.

Mike,

I will be more than happy to provide you links to medical journals and studies in addition to ways you can do this without a severe calorie deficit. HCG impacts men differently than women and is used as a drug to treat fertility/hypogonadism in men.

I wont post the links here as they may be removed but let me know and I can show you some information before you consider trying this. This is ultimately your health and your decision.

Nidsstese 02-28-2012 01:18 AM

Hang in there, Mike.

There is also what's called emotional hunger and that can be more difficult than physical hunger, especially those of us with food addictions. Drink lots of water/tea.

vSzsgifP 02-28-2012 12:40 PM

hcg is used by men for alot of issues, including those which are mentioned above (although it's an infertility drug for women, not men generally) But gfa didn't mention that the doses for those conditions are 20 times what we use for weight loss. Warfarin is also rat poison, but millions of Americans take it every day in very small doses and it's a life saver for them. I'm mentioning this to clarify, not keep the argument going. I don't want future readers of this thread running scared because of the comments.

As far as the conventional wisdom way of losing weight, I am very happy it works for some. This forum is all about people finding a way to lose weight that works for them. The reality is, over 50 percent of Americans are now obese....so I think it's time to open our eyes to other methods and accept and encourage folks for seeking an answer to their problems.

Mike, hang in there. It will get better in a few days. If it doesn't, then your dose needs adjusting. hope this helps some. http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...lies/smile.png.

I was hungry the first few days as well and adjusted my drops. Now I am never hungry, and I feel like I could just not eat LOL I am eating what I am allowed to eat and simply playing with recipes. Loving it! You can get there too! If you are on HCG drops, contact Grammy. If you are on hHCG, contact Beth!
