Default Not getting enough calories
I've been using Spark People's nutrition tracker while on VLCD. My loss is about 10 lbs in 14 days (my goal is to lose 30 total) but I am having a hard time getting in 500 calories - according to Spark. I am often in the 300-400 range. I already upped my protein (chicken, talapia, or vension) to 4 oz instead of 3.5 and I am not limiting veggies, but goodness it is hard to get the calories from only one veg. I go back and forth between strawberries and an apple, I don't do well with the acid in the oranges and grapefruit, and I have melba at least once a day, sometimes twice. My losses were very slow to get started but have settled into a pattern of about 1/2 lb a day. Could it be because I'm not getting enough calories? I am following protocol in all other ways. I'm happy with my 1/2 lb, but just wondered if anyone else has a hard time getting up to 500 calories on protocol.

Suggestions?

Most lose better without the melba. Your average is good though.

You are asking a question out of my own mind! How did you do that! Im very interested to know this also, On my first round I had a hard time consuming the amount of calories I was supposed to. My loss was slow, but over the whole average was about a 1/2 lb a day. Good Luck!

I also have this issue. Especially because everyone says that you lose better with no melba and only one fruit. But then I REALLY have a hard time getting my calories in! I don't want to raise my protein too much either. I hope its not affecting my losses...I have been trying to at least get to around 430 a day.
