Default I know this has been posted - but......
I need to travel out of town and attend a 50th bday party - what can I take along in a cooler to help me not eat so much at the party? I'm in P2

My experience in P2 was me not being hungry, so I could deal with a party environment without too much in the way of the cravings, though I did drink in the sights and smells like a weirdo.

I was packing my food in Tupperware containers, and since they were really bland, it didn't take long to scarf them down cold.

Then I would just hammer home water all night and no one would really care

Hi cb.... what about an already cooked lean ground beef patty and a cucumber (I'm sure your host/hostess would let you borrow a knife), and an apple for 'dessert'? I go for 'easy'...

You mention needing to travel out of town for this party - how many meals will you be away for? just one or several?

You could make a P2 chili - freeze it to take and then micro as needed. Also burger patties - get the kind you know are P2 friendly - lots have wheat. I also made some P2 friendly cabbage rolls (delicious) recipe on this site - they would travel well, and age well. :-) You could also take any of your protein portions - frozen or just cold (depending on how long this trip is). As alcohol swab says most P2 food can be choked down pretty fast - lol! Not that exciting. I often just eat lettuce with my protein for a quick meal. Those little cucumbers are good - grab and bag, wash them, and take them in the cooler - no cutting needed. I use those lots in rounds. Fast and easy.

I have been stuck out and about a couple of times without food and have found solutions - bought one of those whole roasted chickens - ate some breast with no skin (I know it is off protocol since it is cooked with bone and skin, but it worked in a pinch and I didn't gain). Rest of the family ate the rest. Depending where you live - I have found a local chain fast-food style restaurant where I got a low fat chicken ceasar - with no dressing, no croutons, not cheese - basically just lettuce and chicken breast pieces - and because it was there "healthy" choice the chicken was actually just low fat chicken breast with no exciting seasons or anything! read bland! I checked on the website ahead of time and they listed ingredients and calorie totals, so that worked out. And it was a 3 ounce portion of chicken - lol!

Hold tight at the party - it is worth not cheating. :-) If you need a festive drink - have a sparking water with lemon or lime (some people have added vodka to this combo in P2 without gaining - but beware! That is NOT protocol!) Your sparking water with lemon will make your drink look and feel festive! :-)

Yes, to all that others have said.

Grill chicken in advance and place them in baggies. You can freeze and take, along with dressing (no sugar/oil), and a head of cabbage or lettuce.

Also, remember this - you will feel so stronger and happier the next day if you resist - and, don't forget - LIGHTER!
