Default Who mixes their veggies?
Well I just had a salad with some purple onion and tomatoes - why is it that you aren't suppose to mix veggies? Has doing this hurt anyone's weight loss? I have to see if this affects me or not but I sure hope not as I love those in my salads

Ok...not only do I mix I way off protocol. Broccli, cauliflower...now, I've lost but I have a few other rogue habits that are probably responsible for my stalls & gains. Maybe it is because some other veggies have trace fats? Or worried about going over 500 cal mark? Not sure the reason was ever explained. That's my ¢2!

I have always mixed my veggies and it doesn't seem to influence my loss. But then, since I haven't tried NOT mixing veggies, it's hard to tell I've lost 23 pounds in 26 days, so even if I could lose faster, I think it's a fair trade-off to be able to enjoy a medley of veggies!

Hi cb... I guess the short answer is that when Dr. Simeons originally developed this diet, thru his research he found that the foods in the diet, eaten as instructed, gave the best results. So, up to you if you want to deviate or not.

I never mixed alot at home, but I did have things that had onions in them and then another vegetable on the side. When I go to restaurants, I just always ask for the salad without croutons or cheese or anything else non-protocol and I don't worry about the legal vegetables. Lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions were usually on most salads and I never gained after eating out at a restaurant.
