Default hormones after HCG
I am on my second round and it is clear that my hormones are way out of whack. even from the middle of R1, into R1P3 and now into R2. TOM is very heavy, comes earlier and earlier. i am an emotional mess. my hair loss is getting ridiculous....

my question is for those who have been in P4 for a long while: DO THE HORMONES STABILIZE AND GO BACK TO NORMAL?

or am i going to have to go to an endocrinologist to fix things after i am done?

i'd really like to finish this round and not do permanent damage to myself. thanks.

I can't answer your question but I can tell you what I learned. I'm working with wellness clinic and doctor who specialize in bioidentical hormones. Along with hcg, I'm on a half-dose of testosterone to get me back into the normal range and help maintain muscle mass while on hcg. I plan to go onto a full dose once hcg diet runs its course.

During discussions with the doc, I talked at length about my wife's symptoms. Based on input from him, and from literature I've been reading, I do think she's suffers from 'estrogen dominance' as its termed in the literature. Basically, progesterone low. Moody, super cranky monthly, has not gained weight but works out like a hamster 24/7. Low sex drive (nonexistent most of the time). I don't know what's in store when I get home have the time due to unpredictability of her mood swings. She also complains about feeling bloated (she's 5'4" and 115lbs), tired and just 'old.' The only treatments that have helped her are acpuncture and chinese herbs, but these treatments seem to only mask symptoms since they always return.

She'll be seeing my doctor soon for bloodwork and a bioidentical hormone regimen.

Look for a doctor that has access to pharmaceutical compounding and specializes in bioidentical hormones. You might also want to ready Somer's books like Sexy Forever. Lots of good info in there for the ladies.

I agree that bio-identical hormones are the way to go.

Are you on some kind of chemical birth control? That also plays havoc with your hormone levels.

All in all, the HCG is out of your system within a couple of days after you stop taking it and by avoiding sugars and starches, you are regaining hormonal balance. You may want to check out Dr. Jack Kruse's blog for both his posts on hormones and the leptin reset to restore hormonal balance.

Thank you for the replies. I was freaked out b/c I have never had issues with this, and only started noticing these changes with HCG. After I get in to P3 I will re-assess the situation. I have been reading everything I can on the Dr. Kruse site… struggling to understand, but I know there is an answer.

i'll check the Somers book too. i am only 40 and my mother did not start menopause until she was in her late 50s.

Whew, so it's not just me! I was a freaking wreck during my last P2 into the second week of P3. So for about five weeks it was like the worst PMS ever, multiplied by a million or so, plus a completely non-existent sex drive. My poor husband. But according to him I'm like that every round, it was just a lot worse this time. A week or so into P3 I always feel better.

Things evened out for me, though, and I'm back to my happy, sassy self. Thank God, I couldn't imagine feeling that way all the time! Hope you feel better soon!
