Default Help! I have 2 functions on Saturday!!
What do I do? I have a lunch w/ my sister, more like a reunion because we haven't seen each other in 30 years. And then my cousins wedding.

I don't want to have to explain and explain why I'm not eating, I want to have fun and not stress.

How did you handle something like this where you can't get around eating off protocol for a day? I don't want to do a planned interuption as I will not hve been on hcg for more then 23 days. I will try to eat as cleanly as possible, but any advice would be appreciated!! TIA!

Well as for the lunch with your sis. Have it at a restaurant where you can order a steak or grilled chicken and salad. Ask the server to ensure they cook it on the fire without any added fat, grease or butter... just seasoning, and ask the salad be prepared without croutons or cheese. I usually carry a small container of my salad dressing, usually either homemade or Walden Farms 1000 island (diluted with vinegar) in my purse. It takes the pressure off and you get to enjoy a nice meal out with good company.

If the wedding is a buffet type affair chances are you can just get up and mingle during the meal... if it is a sit down dinner, I would probably ask the cousin what is on the menu... if there is a salad and meat such as chicken breast you may be able to make it work... or you can just tell people your having a colonoscopy on Monday and are in the "clean out" phase and not allowed to eat anything for 48 hours... they'll change the subject right away lol.

I had a birthday party Sunday night and one at work yesterday morning, it's tough!! Either fill up before you go and then carry around a glass of iced tea or munch on the best things available at the party. Otherwise you may have to cheat a little and just hit the diet again the day after. Might set you back a couple days but that's up to you.

I think at lunch I can just order a salad and get lemon slices on the side for dressing, which is how I eat my salads anyway. The wedding will be the bigger challenge. What should I absolutely be staying away from? I know carbs(sugars & breads, pastas)....Is it tacky to ask what type of food is being served?

Depends on how close you are to your cousin. If it were one of mine, I'd probably just give her or her Mom a jingle and say hey what's on the menu for the Reception and maybe ask what the Brides colors are, what kind of flowers will she have? etc... You want to stick with protocol veggies you can have and protein (steak/chicken/fish/shrimp etc.)you can have, or eat beforehand and avoid what you shouldn't have at the reception.

Tough situation indeed! All very good ideas thrown out, I will also add try saying you are eating only Organic Foods, it's what I did and didn't seem to get to much resistance and/or negative comments.
