That's an awesome first day, Glor! Way to go! People have said to me "I couldn't do what you're doing". What they don't understand is that this is the easiest way to lose weight, ever - at least so far so good! When they see the results, they'll understand how good it is - and know you haven't passed out from lack of food!

Yeah, your daughter will come around. My kids tell me I look pretty all the time now and dont call me fat anymore or tell me Ihave a big butt or whatever (kids are just so cute, right????) They call it like they see it. They are little (8,7,5,3) but they like it and my older daughter (20) is proud of me too. My three year old likes to tell me what I cant have on my diet all the time. I cant wait to start losing I gained 10 lbs before I started loading and gained 2.4 from yesterday's load. I am ready to see the scale go DOWN!!! I'll have to lose 15 lbs just to get back to where I left off before.

I am from Utah, but originally Montana and only been here 2 years. Spent 14 in the Airforce. Trying to lose weight to get back in and get my retirement!! Today is VLCD 7 and I hit a bit of a plateau I think. 2 days no loss, but no gain either. I guess I will have to do a steak and apple day if I don't lose tomorrow???

I just started last week Monday on my VLCD and I am on day 8 and my weight is coming off in .2/.4 or so latey since Friday. My weight since Friday is not coming off as - Fri: 147.7, Sat: 147.3; Sun: 146.9; Mon(Today):146.7. Today is the beginning of my 2nd week. Is this normal since I just started? Any suggestions?? What is steak and apple day process?

nina- very normal. your loss will average .5 to .75 per day over the length of the round, including the big losses in the beginning.
pretty- you're fine, too. steak days are not for this phase- they're for the next. you don't do an apple day unless you go 5 days without any loss (and without cheating). even then, it's only psychological, to dump water weight. for both of you- what are your total losses so far? in how many days? it's very common to slow down in the 2nd week- i lost nothing at all the entire second week, after losing 7# in the first week. |

I am on D1 of VLCD and beside my really dry mouth doing okay. I loaded like crazy and gained 6 lbs in those two days which I didn't know was possible. 173 to 179.2 and I'm only 5'7". I hope some of that is water so I'm already 50 oz in with chugging that.
I'm in CA - San Franciso. I'm doing 23 day round and really excited to see some changes in my body. I was a diet cola/energy drink addict but am using this as an excuse to get off that as well. I am drinking a lot of green tea for the caffeine. I hope that is okay. Hoping to lose at least 15 lbs this roud. Amy |

mgsondance--I am on VLCD 7 and have lost 9 so far. And I did not gain anything in the last 2 weigh ins just stayed the same. So nothing really to complain about : ) Wondering if 4 egg whites is ok for my protien every other day. I also am wondering why the 98% lean ground turkey is not allowed?? I had my butcher grind up chicken breast for me. I like to cook ground meat and add cabbage to it, and don't want to eat too much ground beef.

some people do eat turkey- although Dr. S. does say you can't have the breast of any other fowl. maybe turkeys were fatter back then? lol
but i know many people do try ground turkey- but make sure it is ONLY ground turkey BREAST. regular ground turkey has more fat than regular hamburger, because they grind up the skin in it. ug. re: the eggs- if you're not going to eat the one yolk, then i think i'd do 5 whites. otherwise you don't get quite enough protein. adding the 5th puts you just a bit over with protein, but under with calories (many more calories in the yolks) |

Woo hoo........I'm gagging down lunch, because I'm not that hungry, but it's not to bad. I thought I would have DTs by now, having to give up diet Snapple....but I got some Lipton Tea Bags with raspberry flavor. No calories, no sugar....just tea. Anyway, I'm amazed....don't think I've lasted 5 hours on any diet!

I'm from Pittsburgh PA...I'm on 2nd loading day & start my vlcd's tomorrow...I'm excited to see how much I will lose b/c I am very heavy (in the high upper 200's) & i hear the heavier U R the more U lose...I been going a little loco with these 2 loading days and scared 2 C what the scale will say tomorrow....I gain weight EXTREMELY easy and I actually lost 21lbs right b4 getting on HCG, so I'm scared that after eating all this junk food the past few days, I will have gained 10-15lbs back....Any advice anyone???? Tomorrow the VLCD journey begins.... GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Welcome Going Bananas and Jodi! I too have alot to loose - 80-100 lbs. We can do this, I just know it's possible this time.
On day 2 of the VLCD and doing good; a few mild hunger pains but a cup of hot tea is turning it around. I feel quite normal. No headaches like some reported, I guess the results of loading so good. It's an exciting beginning of a new journey. I am glad we are all going down the same path. I am in New Jersey - but wishing I was back in my home state of Iowa where my family is. WOW, I just thought of something, when I see them next time, which will be a few months, they might be shocked!!!!! KEEP IT GOING EVERYONE. Glor |

Yes, the heavier you are the faster it comes off esp in the beginning. You may lose 10-20 lbs in your first week. I lost extremely well in both rounds esp in first week and I have a friend that started a week ago and is very large and she has already lost 15 lbs in one week. My last round I lost 10 lbs in first week. I need to lose 15 this week just to get back to where I was when I left off last time. I think I could go olympic gold for loading this time!!!

Good job everyone! Sounds like everyone is doing great. Today was my 2nd VLCD. I was down 2.5 pounds from yesterday. I am very hungry though. Not just the empty feeling. Hungry and headache. I saw the hcg chili recipe and went out to find tomato paste without sugar. I had no luck. Tomorrow is another day. I only have 20 pounds to lose so I will expect my losses will be slower!!
