My Ideal Routine
Ok, so I've dropped quite a few pounds.
This is my regular routine ... for weightloss Start: 10 - 15 minutes on the treadmill at a relatively high intensity (get your heart rate up) Then I move to weights I start with a weighted squat (about 150lbs weight) - I weigh 185 so this isn't that much weight. aim for 3/4 of your body weight. I then do 20 - 30 repetitions 3 times. Following that I do some butterflys, enough weight to do 10 - 12 reps 3 times Bicep curls 10 -12 reps 3 times with as much weight as I can manage Same with bench press ... but I have a messed up shoulder so I'm usually pretty light on the bench press. I do 20 pushups whenever I get a chance (usally about 100 - 140 a day) it takes about 30 seconds to do 20 pushups, so everybody has the time. I also try and add in 5-10 each of 1 leg lifted pushups. Basically I left one leg as high in the air while doing pushups and then swap That's done wonders for me |
I think that routine is actually great and will be very helpful is keeping you fit. Congratulations on dropping some pounds. I actually aim to shed off a little pounds off my waist http://www.dietforums.com/images/smilies/biggrin.png. I usually just jog around but now I am doing more exercises.

You have a strong exercise routine there TheWall! And great to hear that you have lost weight. Do you do that routine everyday? I play sports like tennis, badminton, and volleyball a lot and it has kept healthy and fit for a long time now. I have all the exercise that I need to keep me in shape.

I agree! You have a strong routine there! You will definitely burn all those extra calories and prevent you from gaining weight. Do you also follow a diet plan aside from exercising? I have lost a lot of pounds by counting my calories and minimizing it to 1100-1300 now. I have added a few actually but I thought about adding some more to ensure that I give my body the right nutrition. I think if I exercise more I can eat more food too without having to worry about gaining weight.

I don't think you should worry about losing weight too much if you only consume 1100-1300 of calories a day. If you really want to eat more food, like 300 calories more, just do more exercise routines that will burn about 200 calories and you will be alright.

Sasa is right Kathy. As long as you give yourself enough exercise, you have nothing to fear. Aside from nutrition deficiency diseases or illness. You're a woman with nutrition needs so you should not go lower than the suggested daily calorie intake. Just keep a balanced diet and exercise more often and you will maintain a healthy and fit body http://www.dietforums.com/images/smilies/smile.png
