Learn your scales. this will allow you to move around the fretboard easier/faster.

awesome! practice scales hours and hours a day
--purchase a metronome to help with speed. it will do wonders!

--note* --to play faster, you must play slower. meaning, if you want to get faster you must start off very slow till perfection then gradually increase speed.
