can I just say, that in the 4 weeks that I have been doing the Atkins/low carb plan, that your site has given me more hope and advice than the British forum I joined at the beginning!!! I was previously on a vlcd called lipotrim and lost 14lbs in 2 weeks, then moved to atkins as could not stomach the shakes!! I have been disheartened as have only lost a pound and was feeling like giving up... but I read your posts and many people have noted that they too stalled, you have given fab advice re cheese, limiting calories, avoiding atkins bars, detailed acounts of what some people are eating etc, just the sort of advice I needed but could not find on my forum... so well done and I now have renewed enthusiasm... S x

Well done you! Atkins is fantastic - but you have to follow the rules in order for it to work and that takes some learning. I lost a measley 1 pound in my first week too, then 2 pounds the next, and gained those two pounds back in the third week - so in my first three weeks I lost a total of ....1 pound, lol!
But, did I give up? Heck, no! With the support and advice from people on this forum, I learned what I was doing wrong and corrected it - six months in and I have now lost a whooping 4 stone! I'm still on Induction because I still have another 50 pounds to lose, so a long way to go. But I am not intimidated or worried - I know with Atkins and the forum, it is well achievable. Good luck with your journey. |
