Really? That's too bad. That isn't the way to drink water at all. If you cannot drink too much, drink as much as you can and increase the volume everyday until you achieve the right amount of daily water consumption.

Default Drink Water and Shed Pounds
According to an article at Science Daily, clinical trial has proved that drinking two 8-ounce glasses of water before meals helps people to shed pounds. Scientists also said that people who drink more water and less sugary drinks will also lose weight.

Here's a quote from the article detailing the result of the study:

The study included 48 adults aged 55-75 years, divided into two groups. One group drank 2 cups of water prior to their meals and the other did not. All of the subjects ate a low-calorie diet during the study. Over the course of 12 weeks, water drinkers lost about 15.5 pounds, while the non-water drinkers lost about 11 pounds. Be sure not to drink too much water though since it may lead to a rare but serious condition called water intoxication. As recommended, women should drink about 9 cups of fluids (from all beverages including water) each day while men should drink about 13 cups of fluids.

I have read so many articles about drinking water and losing weight. The ideal water intake is half of your body weight in oz.

To be more specific, if you weigh 120lbs and you have less activity in a day, the recommended daily water intake is 60 ounces per day. If you aren't sure how many ounces are there in a glass of water: there are 8 ounces in a cup (a measuring cup) and 16 ounces in a pint (pint of beer). So the recommended daily water intake for you is 7 cups or 3 pints of water per day. I hope this helps
