Its fine to use. I make curries all the time (Thai, Maylasian, Indian) and use the paste in the tub you can buy in the supermarket. As long as they are sugar-free, using ingredients like onions, lemongrass, garlic, galangal, chilis etc you are OK.
I also use "coconut cream" or the full-fat coconut milk. Never use coconut powder and make sure the ingredients are coconut and water only. There are some carbs in the curry but its incredibly flavourful and satisfying, not to mention spicy, if thats your thing! 8) Enjoy! |

Hey guys.
I was looking to make a thai red / green curry. I was going to use coconut milk alongside this as I understand that it is acceptable on Atkins diets. Please could you recommend me a curry paste that would best suit my needs? I live in the uk, and so far the best I could find is a "Mae Ploy Curry Paste" (search google.co.uk for the term "Green curry paste (1kg) by Mae Ploy", the product in question is for sale at "Thai Food Online" Looking at the ingredients would this be okay to use? Many thanks for reading. |

In terms of coconut cream, is this the type that comes in packets? Could you link me to an example of what you mean? I assume you make it up yourself adding water? I must admit I love the curry aswell, I make mine with: 5 or slices of courgette couple of pieces of asparagus half a tin of bamboo shoots 2/3rds of a portobello mushroom 1 small Chilli packet of king prawns baby leaf spinach seem ok? looking to experiment with it aswell, so any other suggestions would be kindly appreciated |
