Default Need Advice for Dieting
Hello all,

I have never been to these forums before. I apologize if I do not respect any rules or if I am asking something that has been asked before in advance.

Let me start off saying I am a 27 year old male, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weigh 265 lbs. 4 Years ago I weighed 185 lbs and was in amazing shape. The normal story, I got married and became sedentary and so on.

I am coming here because I am confused which road to take at the moment.

2 week ago I decided I had enough and wanted to get back on track and get my weight down. So, I started eating only 800 calories a day and doing 30 mins of cardio (elliptical) a day. Since then, I haven't dropped 1 pound. Not one.

I'm pretty sure my BMR is somewhere around 2,000 cals/day so I am extremely confused on how this is even possible.

I am looking for advice on what I am doing wrong and if there is a certain diet that would fit my body type. I am open to all suggestions and appreciate any information given.

Thanks so much or any help!

-R

Hi R! When doing your diet, you must not skip meals because that will only slow down your metabolism. Dropping your daily calorie intake to 800 is a little dangerous because your body needs more. If you eat less than your daily calorie requirement, your muscle and bone mass will shrink and that's not good health wise. Just cut the fat and carbs and eat more protein and fiver rich foods. Continue exercising everyday and you will get there. Good luck!

Try different kinds of exercises because if your body gets used to the exercise routine, it will not burn fats anymore. Running up and down the stairs is a pretty easy exercise to do but will make you burn a lot of fats. Eat more viber rich fruits and vegetables. If you continue with your 800 daily calorie intake, you will eventually lose weight but your skin will sag and will not look pretty.
