Hi! Thanks for the nice words.

First, go to our forum called "Induction Phase" and read the "sticky's" as they have TONS of good stuff there.

You can also go to the Atkins website (www.atkins.com) and read up on Induction. How long one stays on it depends on how many pounds you have to lose, how tolerant you are of the fewer choices, so it is rapid loss versus variety. The object is not to get bored and quit, which some folks do if they stay on Induction a long time; others, it doesn't bother them much.

Check the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution from the library, the 2002 edition. If you can find it used, buy it. Goodwill had a paperback for $1.00 where I live. My edition is white with red and blue lettering (since the books were in NO order!)

Take all your vitals stats NOW (everything including your neck, bicep, wrist, knee, ankle) as well as the obvious ones. Write them down in a little grid chart on a piece of paper with a date (I do mine on Saturday a.m.) It is important to see your inches lost as the rapid weight loss sometimes levels out for a period of time, but you still lose.)

Avoid processed foods and cook for yourself, if that is possible. Do not rely on shakes or bars...try them out later if you want, but not while on Induction.

Try flax crackers or muffin-in-a-minute (see our recipe section) to avoid constipation (almost pure fibre) and drinks LOTS of water!

Visit my favorite recipe/menu site, Linda's Low Carb site at www.genaw.com/lowcarb for ideas, menus, and recipes with photos and critiques.

Eat veggies! Even when you get to your goal, you need 12-15 carbs of veggies MINIMUM every day! More is recommended after you leave Induction, as the basis of Atkins is responsibly substituting a few "good type" carbs for the fat as you progress through the plan, but the protein and veggies don't change (simply put.)

And it REALLY works...I can see me on it for a lifetime. You will see the term WOE, and that acronym means "Way of Eating."

Tril, who is more seasoned than I, also offers lots of wisdom and information. Please post frequently, and start your own thread should you decide to work this plan. I truly love it, and intend to make it work long-term for me.

My very best to you! I don't post EVERY day, but try to get here at least every other day when I get really busy.

Its time to start again!

This is not my first time to low carb but hopefully the last time I will do it as a newbee.

6years ago I started and lost over 20kg.But guess what...the clocked clicked and over time I picked it all up again.

Three years ago I decided to give it another try and with in 5 weeks I lost over 10kg.....well the credit crunch bit, divorce and redundency stepped in the way and I picked it all up again......

Now I have no excuse, good job, no debt and two lovley daughters so....it's time to get back on track!

xx

Hi, Dee Dee! I can relate! I lost a lot with Atkins many years ago. I'm so annoyed that I gained back almost twenty pounds in the last few years. But I got it off once, I can do it again. I just need to stop some bad habits and eat right. So good luck with your restart! I know you can do it, too!
