Default crab cakes?
Ok i was at the store and saw a can (1lb.) of fresh crab claw meat. So i thought maybe crab cakes but instead of bread crumbs crush up pork rinds. But then i saw a packet of old bay crab cake classic mix that when paired with 1/2 cup of mayo and 1 pound of crab meat made 6 patties at 2 grams of carbs per patty. So all in all if i wanted to eat 6 crab cakes (which are freakin huge) it would be 12 grams of carbs. I however only had 3 and was full! my wife also had 3. i was thinking 6 grams isnt anything for such a delicious crab cake and the pre made mix makes it taste great. Just thought i would share so others can try this.

I have been on Atkins for 9 months and 6 grams for your dinner entree should be manageable. If the carbs on the label were all in sugar, then watch what happens over the next several days QUITE carefully. Some folks are REALLY glucose intolerant and have a low threshold for metabolizing sugar. The lump crab HAD to cost an arm and a leg, so ENJOY it! I hope it was NOT a problem for you!

Sometimes, you are unsure of exactly what you are eating. When, on special occasions, I had a few more carbs than usual (at a restaurant, for example) I was EXTRA GOOD the next day and "no harm no foul." I did NOT have pasta, pizza, dessert, etc. Just the little bit higher stuff I could not really avoid and maybe didn't know about. TOMORROW, 20 carbs. Stops any downhill slide for me.

Others may disagree with me, but LIFE happens, just live it and compensate the next day. License to cheat?...NEVER! It sets you back. DO watch what you consume, and accommodate the next day for small, INADVERTENT excesses. You will be successful. Do I advise cheating and then Induction? Never, absolutely not.

My very best to you ...

Toni

Your going to want to use Tril's suggestion. It's very, very good and I have not made them in a while. I will be tonight.

BTW...I have also used Trils recipe and added crushed pork rinds and it did not make much difference other than adding calories.

I don't know what I was thinking... the recipe I posted was for tuna cakes, not crab cakes. But you could substitute crab for the tuna. It's how I came up with the tuna cake recipe... from making crab cakes. LOL
