When I started Atkins (again) on June 9, I weighed 260 pounds and set a goal to lose 60 pounds in one year. A loss of 5 pounds a month sounds doable on Atkins - provided I stay in the Induction phase for most of that time. I had lost 7 pounds by July 1 and was one happy guy!
Yesterday, I bought a new scale that told me this morning that I weigh 264.2. I haven't cheated. Test strips are always purple. Hmmm. Should I throw out the old scale or the new scale? ![]() |

Do you still have the old scale? If so, it should be easy to see if they still report an 11 pound difference.
Even if the new scale is the more accurate of the two, this doesn't invalidate the progress you've made at all. Just acknowledge that you really tarted at 271.2 instead of 260 and go from there. |

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm going to the MD next week and have him weigh me on his scale and then come right home and weigh myself on each of my scales. The scale that shows a weight closest to the weight the MD gives me is the one I keep. The other one gets the heave-ho (or a return to Bed, Bath & Beyond if it's the new one!). Again, thanks - and continued good luck to us all!
