Despite my bravado on June 2nd, I did NOT meet my June goal. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif My fault entirely. I'll share some of the "blame" with having spent the last 9 days on the couch unable to move... http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif LOL Not making any July goals. Right now the end of July seems an eternity away. I'm just going to get through one day at a time. Good luck everyone.

June "Jump Into Weight Loss" Challenge

It's June... anyone up for a weight loss month? What's your goal? How much could you REASONABLY lose this month if you put your ALL into it?

ME:

My start weight 131. My goal is 128. It's time I got back into the 120's and STAYED THERE. Enough already. I will do this by:

1. Being aware of carb creep (measuring, weighing, counting carbs).

2. Staying active. Dog walks may not be enough... time to get back on the treadmill and get swinging that kettlebell again.

3. Drinking water. I've let that slip. It's SO important and really, not all that hard to do... ya just gotta do it.

4. Taking my supplements. I've let that slip, too...

5. Veggies. This seems to be a hurdle for me right now. Not sure why, since I love vegetables... but they just don't sound appetizing. They take more time/work to prepare than I feel like giving to them, too. So, I need to get back to prepping a few days' worth at a time... like having cole slaw and salad all made, having peppers and onions all cut up, etc.

6. Bring back variety. Boredom was setting in fast... eating the same meals day after day is easy... but it's not condusive to weight loss and food satisfaction.

7. Being held accountable. I plan to report my daily weigh ins, etc. RIGHT HERE in the June challenge. I'll still use my journal for other stuff, but I'll keep track of my June progress here. Please... feel free to call me out if I "disappear". http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

So... that's my June plan and my June goals. This is a crazy-mad-sad-confusing-disruptive month... but I'm NOT going to let that get in way of my personal goals. So there, Life, take THAT.

I'm hoping to get to the 250s once during this month. It's a pretty aggressive goal. If I miss it, I won't be upset.

Current weight as of today 268.6

сайдинг 02-06-2009 05:17 PM

I'm in Tril. 208.4 today and plan to get down to 203.

I'm going to up my water intake and start the new fitness program on Wii Active Personal Trainer.

Like you Tril, I'm going to pre-prepare some foods so I don't just reach for the same old same old.

Yeah! So glad to have the company this month! http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...icon_smile.gif

Having a good day today (kinda boring, but good diet wise). B'fast was 1/2 bag cole slaw mix stir fried in EVOO and topped with two fried eggs... plus coffee/splenda/cream. Lunch was the other half of the bag made into cole slaw... with about 6 chunks of stew beef topped with a bit of shredded cheddar. I've had one fiber "cracker" with natural PNB and a few almonds as snacks. Half way through my water for the day, too. I need to get outside and get some fresh air....

Hey Tril, i'm in!

current 173 (lets go with that, although i haven't weighed in a few days - have had flu-like symptoms http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif

goal is 169. at the moment my appetite is nil, feeling nauseous, and headachy (also body-achy), but hoping to be fully better in a few days.

goals are to be gung-ho, and get enough water, vitamins and exercise. there are 3 classes a week i love, so i want to make it to at least 2 (except TOM week)

mArVHDO6 03-06-2009 10:24 AM

But such a lovable dork...

usacomm 03-06-2009 10:13 PM

ah, shucks!

poulaMahmah 05-06-2009 10:22 AM

Tril, are you sure you were describing you? In your first post there, you sure sounded like you were describing me. Especially the part about vegetables. I normally love them but just have shunned them these past few weeks. Unless someone elses prepared them.

Not sure if I will join the June challenge bacause I'm just not sure what I'm doing right now. Maintaining okay, but it hasn't been Atkins or even Atkins-like in two weeks.

But I am going on a family vacation in about 23 days so this is my last chance to shed a couple pounds before seeing these people again that I haven't seen in two years. So I may join as a silent partner once I find my motivation (where did I put that?).

I'd like to join, too! I have no idea what a realistic expectation is for me, though, so I'm going to say 10 lbs.

My goal for June then will be to get to 190.

Wow! I haven't seen that in YEARS!

I will continue on as I am, keeping on with my exercising, because for me that's the key to moving things forward.
Please feel free to call me out if I slack off on that!!!

I have to say that being on this board, reading old posts, clicking links to some great articles and blogs, has made such a difference for me. This place is great!
