Does anyone else take this.
I do and did not think it was doing anything so upped the dose to 2 tablets twice a day and since I did, I have lost 1lb (2 days ago). I have also started OWL rung 1 and I have also noticed that if I eat most of my veg from list 1, I lose weight but as soon as I add in broccoli, cauli or anthing from list 2, I stall - does this mean I have to eat salad forever??? I hope not because i really like all the other veges on list 2. I seem to be able to eat tomatoes without any issues but eating eggplant, zucchini etc, my weight loss stalled for 2 weeks - well at least I think that is what has stalled it. Eating salad (list 1 veg) for the last few days and the kilos are on the move again. Cheers |

Hi Tracy, I paid $33.45 for 30 tablets at the health food shop. But I just looked at the site for the company that makes it and they had them for around the same price;
www.greenridge.com.au Just do a search for L Carnitine (I use L Carnitine+) - it has CoQ10 and chromium in it as well. I think I will order from the website - I really think it is them that is working for me. I am a forum tart too - which other Atkins site are you talking about? |

hi Jodes
it's the atkins.com (you know "sweet sexy science"?) - ha ha! anyway, sometimes i go to them because people are always on and answer quite quickly...but i love this site much better - as you can always find your post - atkins.com it's almost impossible - so if you do post, bookmark it! ![]() anyway, i just made an order to the states for my supplements: Country Life, Acetyl L-Carnitine Caps, 500 mg, 120 Veggie Caps $16.98 2 Doctor's Best, High Absorption CoQ10 with Bioperine 100 mg, 120 Veggie Caps $14.99 i skipped the chromium because my multi has them...it's $11 (USD) for shipping for a delivery within 5 or so bus days - so they say, we'll see anyway, here's the site if you reckon they've got a better deal: http://www.iherb.com/Default.aspx tracy ps - excited about the supplements! |

the site says that the cheaper shipping method is the easiest (ie - no customs etc), so i will let you know - i can't remember ever getting supplements, but i've gotten lots of other things through this shipping method and never had a problem...it just comes to the post office, so i think that's why)
i will keep you posted though! gosh, the prices of things in this country sometimes amazes me! $45 for co q10 (WOW) tracy ![]() |

I order all of our supplements from Puritans Pride. Here's a link to their suppy of L-Carnitine. I don't know what it would cost to ship it to you, but their specials of "buy one get one free" may offset your shipping.
http://www.puritanspride.com/l-carni...nitine&rdcnt=1 How many milligrams a day do you take? Tril |

"What's the difference between the acetyl and the regular?"
Acetyl-l-carnitine is l-carnitine that has been acetylated... it's when an acetyl group is introduced into a molecule, usually taking the place of nitrogen. It's believed (studies haven't confirmed that this work on L-carnitine yet... one says yes, one says no) that by doing this it increases the ability of the compound to cross the blood/brain barrier, making each dose work better. Salicylic acid becomes aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) when acetylated. Mophine when acetylated becomes diacetylatedmorphine, or herion. Does it make a difference which one you take? Who knows... but if there's a chance that the acetyl-l-carnitine works better, that's probably the one I'd buy. Dr. Atkins suggested a broad multi-vitamin (vitamins and minerals) that does not contain iron. Any made specifically for a man's needs would be appropriate for you... it would have licopene, for instance, that a woman's multi wouldn't (for prostate health). Personally, I believe there's such a thing as too much of a good thing. I take no more than the recommended daily allowance. For me, that's a One-A-Day for Women over 50 (no iron). My dh takes a variety of supplements... licopene, vitamin E, vitamin C, 81mg aspirin, selenium and folic acid. Those are what our doctor and a doctor friend suggested for him. I like the simplicity of taking just one pill a day. lol Tril |
