Now that explanation I can understand Bluehex. Thanks. And thank you to all the others too - they help. I'm not able to do a lot of exerices - certainly no to the point of re-sculpting my body! However, on days when the scale doesn't move my clothes are sometimes looser.

Thanks everyone

you should consider doing some weight lifting. It would help out your inch and weight loss.

Here is the Slow burn ebook - (in his real book, he has exercises that you can do at home.)

I still don't get it! How can you not lose weight but your body gstillets smaller - even when you don't significantly exercise. I know it happens but does anyone have the explanation please?

I don't have a full answer for you, but I think part of it is simply that your weight on any given day is a composite of many factors that you don't have individual visibility on.

I think it was Tril (or someone else here) who told a story about a child who was standing on a scale with a sandwich in their hand who then ate the sandwich and couldn't understand why nothing changed even though the sandwich was gone.

Although comical, I think this is a mirror of how some of us approach weight loss, focusing on a number that while related - isn't what we really care about. If we're honest, Fat % is what we all care about, and your "weight" is made up of that + so many other things.

I have a scale that estimates body fat % and muscle %, and I find this to be a very useful third dimension to add to the weight / measurements picture - but it still can't explain some truly bizarre measurements I've taken from time to time. They usually work themselves out within a week though.

If you're working out as well, you're also building muscle mass which is heavier than fat. So it is possible for you to lose inches, but actually weigh more. It's happening to me right now actually.
