I want people to do what ever makes them feel good, helps them get to their goal weight and most importanly of all, keeps them dieting. I personally love the Atkins Diet as my way to achieve these goals.
One of the things I see over and over in reading the posts here is that people are wanting to go off of the diet, or 'cheat', after only a couple of days or weeks. Atkins is a diet. You are changing the way you are eating. Your body is going thru a new process. For me, this is the ideal diet. I was never into sweets, but I do love bread, cake and ice cream, corn, potatos, and the like. I am having to sacriface those foods to stay healthy. But you know what? If you want to lose weight on a low calorie diet you are going to have to cut the sweets, cake and ice cream, corn, potatoes, and the like anyways. But on the Atkins diet you never have to be hungry. This is what keeps me going. If I'm hungry I eat something. If I'm a little tired or need some energy I eat some more. And this is what keeps me on the diet and this is why I like it so much. I am also very active as far as athletics go. I regularly ride my bike around 25k on a given day and play soccer and can run around the field as much as anyone else. Atkins gives you plenty of energy. If you are not happy though and are trying to cheat already, ask yourself if this is the best diet for you. Maybe you should be on a low calorie diet, or a diet that lets you sneak food that you must have once in a while. If you can't make any sacrifices then maybe you just cannot diet at all. You have to have some self-motivation to make things work. Ask for support on this webiste. There's a lot of great people on here that will help you with anything, including me, even though I'm new, ![]() With a little will-power and some support, like this website, you can do anything you want. FYI: Atkins is minimal carbs and lots of protein and fat. I see a lot of people on here talking about what they eat and they don't mention fat. They just talk about protein and green vegetables. Get that fat in there too! To me the perfect food, in no particular order, is tuna salad, chicken salad, and deviled eggs. They are all proteins mixed with a nice fatty mayonaise. Just make sure not to eat a lot of fat AND carbs, that's the down fall. |
