No I don't have the book, I'm not really doing "atkins". There is a doctor in my town that is certified in bariatics and he has a weight loss program. You go and he does blood test and some other test to try and help determine what may be causing your weight gain! My was my stress level, probably carrying over from nursing school (I picked up some bad eating habits)! Anywho, he gives you vitamins to make up for what your lacking, B12, B9 and amino acid shots weekly and an appetite suppressant. Then you get a list of foods that you can eat for the first 4 weeks which is mainly meat and veggies and eventually you start to work in fruits and some what he calls "acceptable" carbs! Alot of ppl around here have had great success with it and I haven't had any on my own so I thought I would give it a try!

No just $150 to get started (for the blood test and things) and then $80 a month after that but that covers your shots, appetite suppressant and vitamins. Plus once you get to your goal weight you can come weigh in for free every month! I like it because you have to loose at least 4 pounds a month or you get kicked out of the program which holds me accountable for my actions! Once you meet your goal weight being able to weigh in for free still kinda keeps you responsible because you don't want to let all the ppl that help you get to your goal down. I hope it works this is my last resort and I think that with my program and the help of this forum and a little determination I just might do it!

congrats on the success so far!

From my personal experience, Atkins is the way to go.
The only I pay for is the cost of my food and the 25 cents I paid for the book. No monthly payments! I'm down 68 lbs since my highest
