Default Question for health people
How do you make a sore throat go away? Ive been taking allegRX like the doc told me to, Ive been using that throat spray, and Ive been taking cough drops. But my throat still burns and gets dry easily. It feels like its on fire. Even when I breath in my nose, it feels like I have breathed in my mouth. Make the pain go away please.

This won't cure it or make it go away completely... but you can take a cup of warmish water (8oz) and mix in a tablespoon of salt. Use this to gargle a few times. This really helps when your throat is swollen and irritated. It also helps when your sinuses are dripping into your throat causing more discomfort.

I do this and it really helps sooth the throat

This really works! Also, drink more water - if you're dehydrated your throat can feel like sandpaper.

I don't know if it will fix it, but a warm cup of milk (or hot chocolate) would probably feel really good. I have a coffee drink I make with milk and I've been drinking it all day for my throat.

I think everyone is finally getting sick because of all the crazy weather we've had lately!

I'm surprised hottytoddychick didn't suggest this, but a good old hot toddy works wonders for sore throats.

basically everyone has their own way to do it, but mine is - shot of whiskey, slice of lemon, a few cloves and some hot water (can also put honey in if you fancy!)

one of the first things we learned when we came from the UK to Canada was some native remedies for things like sore throats. My dad, because of our world trekking has always and still to this day acquaints himself into the local people and learns their knowledge about the land. He's considered an Elder here by the Ojibwa /Anishnabe people. Anyway, one of their treatments, which i found does work, is to chew on a piece of cedar.

I would take a look and make sure you don't see any white shit back there. Keep the minds out of the gutter folks. Not that kind of white shit. It is a sign of strep throat.
