Default Skin Cancer Linked to Loss of Protein That Hooks Skin Cells Together
This is another interesting research that I want to share with you all. I know that we all are concerned about skin cancer. Awareness is very important so we could prevent it. This study is also valuable as our medical professionals would know how to cure/treat them on already afflicted patients. Skin cancer has been very rampant and hopefully with this research, our scientists finds better way of helping us prevent this illness.

In a study, researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine have implicated the lack of a protein important in hooking our skin cells together in the most common variety of skin cancer. Depletion of this protein, called Perp, could be an early indicator of skin cancer development, and could be useful for staging and establishing prognoses.

Perp loss promotes cancer in three different ways. The scientists observed the overproduction of inflammatory molecules (known to promote cancer), the increased survival of cells that should have committed suicide in response to excessive UVB and a loss of cell-cell adhesion commensurate with the loss of desmosomes.

A tumor-progression marker that could be detected early might prove useful not only in diagnosing and staging tumors but also in enhancing physicians' treatment decisions.

Seriously? This is a great research and could help us avoid skin cancer better. I didn't know that there is such thing and it's really good to know. We just need to make sure then that we supply our body with enough protein that it needs.

I read a new study and I think I posted it here too that red fruits and vegetables give us more healthy glow and beautiful skin tone than getting a tan. So to reduce your risk of skin cancer, eat more tomatoes, carrots, and other red fruits and vegetables as it boosts your overall health!
