Default Put myself in a bad situation maybe...
I am a life long dieter/yo-yoer--gain a hundred, lose a hundred.....many of you know the drill! This is the first time I've done low carb dieting and it has clearly worked for me....I am down 46 lbs in 10 weeks and I found it so easy! My question is: I've done VERY low to NO carb eating for this time and feel like I should start adding some to live life like a "normal" person but am very apprehensive to do so and wondering what is a good number of carbs to consume and still be considered "low carb"? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've just starting reading about low carb today and see that fiber negates some of the carbs-does anyone know of a simple formula for those foods? Thanks in advance!

I would suggest you do two weeks of Atkin's Induction. In the first phase (Induction) you eat 20 net grams of carb per day. 12 to 15 of them MUST come from vegetables... your choices are clear on the food list. To determine NET grams you take the total grams and DEDUCT the fiber grams. If you live in North America you have to figure this on products, if you live outside of NA, products will already have the fiber deducted on the nutrition label. After two weeks you can move up to the next phase.

Eating zero carbs is not a lifelong plan. You need something you can live with forever... so you don't EVER have to lose this weight again!!! Atkins can do this for you.

Get yourself the new book, "A New Atkins for a New You". WalMart has it for around $10. If you go to the Atkins website you can get $3 rebate. Or check it out of your library. Go to the Atkins site in the meantime and do the lessons there... Start with the Induction/Phase One lessons. Download the Induction food list and print it out. That's your shopping list. Read "How To Do Induction Right". That's your rule book.

Any questions after that... just ASK!!!!

Tril

LOL Kel... honestly, it IS simple!! We don't have to figure it out... since it's all been done for us. The hard part isn't knowing WHAT to do... it's DOING it.
