Yes, and adult that don't eat veggies, no mistake of mine i didn't raise him. But any rate, he wants to really do the diet, he's 364 pounds and needs to do it bad. I will try cooking the veggies, but can he have the shakes now?

Ok, I guess you can say I'm on a roll, I have another question for myself this time. Since this is my second time around, will it be much harder for me to loose the weight?? If so are they things you can recommend to help get back to at least loosing 1-2 pounds a week after induction.

Thanks

Sometimes it is slower... but not necessarily because you've done this before. Other life changes effect it more, IMHO. Things like just being older... hormonal changes (esp having a baby or nearing menopause)... different activity level... different body composition (fat vs lean tissue)... so many things effect your rate of loss. Unfortunately, most of them are due to aging and that means it will be slower. 1 to 2# a week is the MOST anyone should "expect" after the first few weeks of Induction. To get the BEST result, give it your BEST effort. That way you lose the most YOUR body can support... comparing it to your body before isn't fair to you. Don't do it. Just concentrate on doing your best now.

It's not because it's low carb... weight loss is always slower as you age, no matter what diet you choose. If fast wt loss is the only reason you're eating this way... do yourself a favor and don't do it. Heck, don't do any diet since none that are healthy will give you more than 1 to 2# a week under optimal conditions. How long did it take you to gain the weight?

And more importantly... How did you plan to maintain your weight loss?

Tril..I'm 38 and I don't consider my self that old... My goal is to loose the weight, and I do realize it will be a life style change and I'm up for that challenge. I enjoyed atkins the first time and most of all enjoyed the results, however if the second time around is impossible perhaps I may try a different avenue...I am willing to put up the fight.

38 is hormonally and physically different from your 20's. Women start to lose muscle in their early 30's... so your body IS different. No one said it was impossible. It's never impossible. Harder... slower... yes, sometimes it is... but not impossible. And it has nothing to do with the diet you choose, after having had a baby and being in your late 30's it WILL be different. That's ok... wt loss at 38 is easier than at 48 or 58. So go for it! We didn't mean to discourage you... but it's better to hear it now than 4 weeks from now when you can't figure out why you're not dropping it like you did before. And who knows... maybe you will! We just know from our personal experience, and from being on this forum for years... that slower wt loss is more common than not. That' all.

Thanks Tril for all your support, i really needed that. I'm going to give it my all, and I'll be working out three days a week, so hopefully that will help as well. I will be on the forum a lot looking for support.

Thanks
