Almonds and fiber

Today I went shopping and came to notice that the packaging of Almonds (the raw, natural one) says they consist of 5g Carbs of which 0g are sugars. Does that mean I can stuff these things like mad because they contain zero net carbs, only fat, protein and fiber?

Greetings

You should be ignoring the grams of sugar... look at the grams of carb. If you're in Europe, that's the net grams and what you count. If you're in the US, look next at the fiber grams and deduct them (if there are any) from the total carb count. That's your net gram count.

So your almonds could have 5g per serving... certainly NOT zero.

Most certainly you can eat some, after induction of course, but don't just nosh absentmindedly. A serving size is only about a small handful of nuts. I would get waaaaayyy too full on a whole cup of almonds. 1/4 cup is more like it. I will take the big packages and divide them into servings in little plastic baggies or cups and then tuck them away for snacks or to accompany meals. If I'm packing lunch for work I can grab a baggie, toss it in my lunch kit and head for the door.
