Not losing weight in Induction - am I doing something wrong?
Hi I’m just wondering if any atkins experts out there can help me. I’m in day 6 on induction and so far haven’t lost any weight, in fact according to the scales, I seem to have gained some. Also the tape measure is not changing. I know its not the end of the 2 weeks yet but if I’m starting to think maybe the diet, or the diet stage, isnt for me because of my weight.
Ok so I’m 5’3 and weigh 125 pounds/9stone but I’m hoping to lose my extra weight for my mums 60th birthday in June, so I want to be down to about 115. So I know that it will take a long time to lose weight but I just think maybe the diet is making me gain it. Here is an example of my daily menu Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with 2 Eggs 2 slices of grilled bacon Lunch: Salmon or chicken grilled Cheese 2 egg omelette Cup of salad – lettuce/cucumber Snacks Some cheese Bits of cooked chicken Dinner: Grilled chicken seasoned 1 cup of veg or salad Cheese I drink 2 litres of water a day, sometimes more and I run or swim and workout most days. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. |
I echo Bluehex. At 5'3" you are already within a normal weight...that's my height. Back when on Weight Watchers, they set my goal at 125. 115 was thinner than I should have been, for my bone structure.
You have hardly ANY extra fat in your body to deal with. That's why Atkins appears to be not working...you don't have fat to burn and Atkins is a "fat burning" plan. Hope this makes sense! You can lose 10 pounds in 2 months on almost any plan...this one may not be serving your needs if you expect the losses that heavier folks record. This is a lifetime plan...you have a short-term goal this plan cannot meet, giving how little fat you have to lose. My best wishes on losing those 10 pounds! Toni |
