Default lbs. up and down
Hi,
I'm a new member. I wake up in the morning and feel thinner, the scale tells me I've lost weight. I've been doing atkins for about three weeks. The roll around my waist seens alot smaller. In the evening I feel like it's all back I feel fat and the scale shows a five pound difference. I started at 170 lbs. and now I weigh between 155 and 160 I'm 5'9 and I want to get down to at least 140lbs.I know you'll say stop weighing every day but that's how I stay motivated. I've never been big on eating and not all that much carbs but seen to eat very little and put on weight. Being on the diet for life I'm eating 3 - 4 times a day.Just small meals, but healthy.I never drank water before, now I drink about a gallon of water a day. I have'nt started exercising much yet. I run a day care and work 12 - 14 hours a day so I get pretty worn out.
Anyways I see I'm rambeling on. Thanks for listening !

If you're going to weigh every day you can expect your weight to flucuate by several pounds at any time. So you just have to remember that and look for the lowest figure you see during the week as your minimum weight. When you can achieve that weight for a few weeks then you've reached your goal.

As to exercise, you may be adjusted to the level of activity you do and it might take some more vigorous exercise to get your metabolism moving better. Even just 20-30 minutes four or five times a week might help.\

Good Luck!

You always weigh more at night. If you want to weigh in every day, do it naked, before breakfast. DOn't weigh again until morning.

You also have to realize that you consume 4-5 pounds of food and water a day, so it stays with you until you excrete.
This makes me think of when my step son was in jrhi and wanted to grow so badly. He weighed costantly to see if he had gained any (can you image weighing just to see if you GAIN weight) . Any way one day he headed for the scales with sandwich in hand. When asked what he was doing, he replied that he was going to weigh himself before and after he ate the sandwich to see how much weight he had gained. All the while still holding the sandwich.

i only weighed once a month on the first of the month on the same scale. otherwise i would have gone crazy. i would have been on the scale every hour of everyday and the scale would be my mood and up and down, no thanks... for me once a month was perfect as i would loose anywhere from 4 to 12 pounds...
