Default Could this have blown it? big snack at 3 am.
I have been doing this low carb thing for several months, and it has been ok. But last night at about 3 am I could still not sleep and I was soo hungry. I really have no healthy snacks right now so I ate 3 pepperonies and a big chunk of cheese. AT 3 AM!! that was about 6-700 calories. Will this really throw things off for me to have consumed that much in the middle of the night? Now I have decided to not eat anything today. I feel so screwed up and dissapointed in my self. Was that a terrible binge? I am so worried SO WORRIED.

Jo... whoa... slow down... take a deeeeep breath. You're okay. Really. Considering your hunger level and the time of night, you didn't do bad at all. You stuck with low carb calories. It won't do anything. You might have gone over your caloric needs for the day... but so what? 700 isn't a binge and I suspect, if this snack brought on such an emotional response, that you typically count calories and keep them low. Do you? If so then you probably didn't even go over your daily caloric need. Besides, you'd have to do that 5 nights in a row (eat 700 extra calories) to add ONE POUND.

So cut yourself some slack. You didn't do anything wrong. Have you been able to get some snacks to have on hand? AND I hope you're not fasting today... that will only set you up for another "gotta have something to eat right now" moment. If you haven't eaten... go right now and make yourself eat a good low carb meal. Get those veggies, lean protein and healthy fats into you. It doesn't do you any good to lose weight and look like $#!% afterward... which is what you will look like if you do this in an unhealthy (starvation) way. You need to fuel your body and keep your metabolism burning.

Now go eat.

Little slices of pepperoni and mozzerella cheese is a staple of mine. It is pretty high in fat but really calms the hungries! I have many, many lbs to go before I start focusing on calories. I just count carbs these days.
