Hi everyone,

I'm back on the diet after a horrendous time of weight gain.

I did Atkins about six years ago. I lasted 2 months but it really worked. I found it hard with a young child and a partner who kept a cupboard full of crisps/chips. Far too easy to dip into when needing a quick fix!

Anyway, I put on everything I lost and then this year I had several serious chest infections and ended up on steroids. well you can imagine - in 2 weeks I gained 14 pounds!

I'm weaned off the steroids now but the weight stayed so I need to lose weight and change my eating for life.

Now I am also without my high carb partner so the food cupboards are my domain now. I just have to account for my 11 year old son and I'm determined not to fill him with junk. He can have the pasta, potatoes and rice etc. But he'll have to get his chips from my ex when he visits.

Yesterday I started the diet and feel great so far. I'm going to post on the progress board.

Lovely to meet you all. I have read so many inspiring stories and hope to return the support.

Helen
