Muscle weakness
Hello all, i have been having muscle weakness. I have been walking 100 stair from my parking spot to my work every day for over a year without a problem and since i started the diet my legs are really weak. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this? I am in my third week and i am still on induction.

I got/have this, too... I researched it and from what I could find, it's caused NOT by a lack of glucose/glycogen (which most non-low carb people will tell you) but by a lack of electrolytes (minerals). This deficit is caused by the dehydrating effect of low carbing... think about the water weight you've lost since you started. Make SURE you're taking a daily supplement every single day that has potassium, magnesium and calcium in it. Don't also try to go low sodium right now. You want your body to hold some water. Dehydration alone will cause muscle weakness.
Do this for a few days and you should see a difference. Also, don't skip meals! Tril |

Do you think this would be connected at all with Restlless Leg Syndrome? My legs have been a lot more twitchy since I started Induction. I have not been talking a supplement basically because I haven't been to the store to buy some.

I don't know about RLS (usually this is totally unrelated to diet)... but leg cramps at night are definitely an issue when you start low carbing. That daily supplement is really necessary, IMHO.

I wish I had read this when I was on Induction ---every night for two weeks I had crazy leg cramps and twitching and disturbed my sleep; I was sooo tired.Then I realized I wasn't drinking 64 oz of water every day and haven't had a problem since! |
Also, drinking way too much water can cause electrolyte imbalances. I'm talking about more than a quart in an hour. That's because your kidneys process the water quickly and flush out the electrolytes. So, don't go way overboard on the water. And vitamin and mineral supplements are really necessary. Non-negotiable. That's true for any weight-loss program.
