Yes, you can absolutely join in!

Post what you weigh on July 1 as your starting weight for the contest.

In other words, you may have weighed more when you started Atkins, but the starting weight for the contest is what your weight is on July 1, 2008. We want to see who can lose the greatest percentage of their body weight in six weeks.

Ok... I thought about it.. I'm in, too!!! It'll help me stay on the straight and narrow while I'm at my mom's (family reunion, too!!!!) over the long weekend of the 4th. Travel on Thursday (2 hr drive, 1 hr ferry ride), cookout and immediate family gathering on Friday, extended family reunion cookout/potluck all day Saturday, repeat of travel day on Sunday. Sounds daunting, but I can do it!!!

Actually, since we're going by percentage of body weight, even if you're close to goal, you could still win.
If, on July 1, you weighed 120 and lost 9 lbs in six weeks, that would be 7.5% of your body weight lost.

Someone who weighs 250 would have to lose 18.75 lbs during the same six weeks to lose 7.5% of her or his body weight.

I'm glad so many are joining in. Even if you became a member after June 17, you're more than welcome to post here and let us know how you're doing.

Bad weekend for me visiting family for the 4th. Amusement park (Not much Atkins friendly there,) Bob Evans (can't resist the biscuits and gravy,) Ruby Tuesday's (can't resist that pasta/ham/pea salad from the salad bar.)
