Default Menu help needed
Ok guys... dh just called and invited me out to dinner (he has a guy in town) at a Mexican restaurant. I have until 5:00 to tell him if I want to go. It all depends on if I can find something on the menu that I can eat (and enjoy). Here's a link to the menu... WARNING, don't read the desserts.

http://www.miguelsmaine.com/menu.html

Here's what I think my best choices will be... any suggestions are most welcome. I don't typically "do" Mexican so I'm not sure on this. LOL

FAJITA SALAD - Choice of grilled marinated chicken or steak on a bed of lettuce with cheese, tomato, egg, avocado & peppers served with flour tortillas... everything but the tortillas, of course.

FAJITAS - Chicken breast or steak, marinated, char-grilled and topped with seasoned sautéed vegetables and served with guacamole & flour tortillas on a sizzling platter... eat the filling, skip the tortillas.

I've been here once before and that was pre-Atkins. I had this:
BURRITO ENSALADA - A flour tortilla wrapped around your choice (I had pulled pork) of filling and cheese. Topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, black olives & guacamole. It was very good. I could get this again and just dump the filling out.

I'm thinking the sauteed veggies sound better than another salad (had one already today).

Anyone?

I've had the fajitas without the tortillas. Didn't miss them. Everything else is low carb. Of course, skip the rice and beans. That's just filler anyway.

This makes it unanimous. Fajitas-sans-tortillas. Much as I love Mexican food, you can do without the carbs.

I had the fajita! I got the beef after asking about what they put on the steak... she said just a powered rub of seasoning. I asked if it was sweet at all. She asked if I was allergic ( ) to sugar... I said no, I just avoid it for health reasons. She said, "We all should." So I ordered the beef fajitas and said hold the rice, beans and tortillas. She then said, well, if you're not getting all that we should substitute something else... what would you like? I said that I eat basically meat and vegetables so she suggested extra grilled veggies and brought me a whole plate of them. LOL It was a very good meal, too. I'm so glad I went. My wt will be up tomorrow, though... kinda salty. Oh well... it was good food and good company and much needed!

AND... I wore an outfit that I couldn't get on not long ago. Even a week or so ago I tried on the pants and no way could I wear them. Tonight I had to keep hiking them up!!! Crazy.
