The milk has to go.

The french beans have to go.

IMHO The tomato should go.

The carrots have to go.

Theres just a lot of carbs there, the milk alone probably carries as many carbs as most of the posters in this thread even consume in 1 day.

Attagirl,
If you are serious, get the book and read it,learn it live it!! You did not follow the main outlines of the book. Sweeteners,milk,caffiene,carrots...nope, not the Atkins food plan.
Best of luck!

hi there, I know it's frustrating to see the scale show a 'no' progress. As long as you continue the way you are, you'll definitely get to your goal. Also, don't worry if you're not in ketosis because you don't have to be in it to lose weight! Good luck!

I agree with Mneemnee and Towhook - it would be good if you review rules of Induction. Even better, read the book again. It really makes following the diet much easier and you avoid mistakes.

You should also definitely cut down on tea and - especially - coffee, not to mention milk and sweetener! Did you ever look at the ingredients of your sweetener? Some of them are cut with maltodextrin or dextrose, both of which have a very high glycemic index, almost equal to sugar. There is also a sweetener based on sodium - sodium cyclamate, I think. It may cause horrible water retention. And drink AT LEAST 2 litres of water a day. It helps the fat burning process and flushes all toxins from your body.

Also, to be frank, you seem to be eating an awful lot of food... How much are you trying to lose? Because unless you are a real heavyweight, like myself, you are probably getting way too many calories. Calculate your BMR and try to eat approximately 100-200 calories above it. Perhaps eating less, but more often would do the trick?

Also, are you using any medication? Some of it has plenty of sugar.

Are you regular in the bathroom? This is important, because constipation may hamper weightloss. So if you get constipated, make sure you get more fiber in your food.

That would be it for now, I guess - try to eat more in line with Induction rules (more leafy greens, less beans and tomato), drink your water - the more the better - and give it a week or two to see results.
I agree with this post. Well said. Here is the way i follow to keep myself fit and healthy.
1. No animal stuff.
2. No added sugar. I use honey as sweetener as it wont harm.
3. Sprouts, fruits for breakfast.
4. Wheat rotis and leafy-vegies for lunch. I prefer it to be of protein content.
5. Lots and lots of water....

I used to smoke 10 cigarettes a day, and since i decided to quit i put on about 11 pounds! It's been around 35 days since i quit and i went cold turkey, as i didn't use nicotine patches as they are far too expensive. Though i don't mind putting on that weight as it means i gave up one habit that i have been trying to give up for a long time. Now though i'm even more determined to stay slim and healthy.

Why don't you post what you're exactly eating, so we can help you. Are you drinking 64 oz water?

For breakfast I eat 3 boiled eggs with mayonnaise and parsley, half a tomato, a cup of tea with full fat milk with 4 sweeteners

Lunch is either salmon or other fish plain baked with salt and 1 teaspoon of mixed spices, half a cup of french beans, 4 baby carrots, and 4 strips of pepper or lamb mince cooked with 4 teaspoons if mixed spices, 1 clove garlic , salt and vegetable oil, sometimes with a cup of mushrooms and topped with chedder cheese and half a cup of french beans.

Dinner is leftover from lunch (I cook for two meals) or 4 to 6 chicken drumsticks or 2 thighs with skin on grilled with 2 teaspoon mixed spices and a clove of garlic and a tablespoon of oil and coriander. Half tomato.

During the day I drink 5 cups of tea or coffee with full fat milk and approximately 6 glasses of water. I eat relatively the same things most days but when I want a little change I just grill a mixture of meats with some salt and a little seasoning. Thanks

Hello again,
First we are allowed a maximum of 3 sweeteners a day. Milk and carrots are not allowed on Induction. As for the water it has to be not less that 8 8 once glasses. It's better you read the rules of Induction. Good luck and keep us posted.
Regards,
Maie

No carrots, not on the acceptable food list. More salad type vegetables, less other type (tomato and green beans). Less salt, salt makes you retain water.
Review the rules of induction. Drink lots and lots of water.

Thank you so much to you both for replying to my message. I do eat a lot! I use splenda to sweeten my drinks, and i have been quite constipated as well. I never read the atkins diet book, but despite this followed the main outlines when i lost weight initially but i piled on about a stone recently and i felt terrible, i guess i do need to cut my portion sizes cos they are HUGE. Again i want to say thanks for both your detailed responses.
