hi i have just started reading the atkins book and it says in there that you can have it ,yet in an earlier post i was told you cant which is right? thanx

When in doubt, always go by the book. (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) And the book says it's acceptable.

The reason some people avoid malitol is that it can cause diarrhea and/or cramps.
