How would you make your own protein shake? What would you put in?

I'm back, question about shakes.

Fell off the food wagon and put back on the 14 pounds I'd lost plus an extra five pounds. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif The problem was breakfast, having breakfast quiche, cheese, salad was kind of tough. I'm on induction now and am managing, but when I move off it I'd like to try having flavoured protein shakes for breakfast. Is this ok? I can't find anything in the book about non-Atkins brand shakes. Is there anything I should be careful of? Thanks in advance http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...on_biggrin.gif

welcome back!

protein shakes -- after induction - should be OK but keep an eye on the carb count and list of ingredients. If you see anything with sugar or a sugar derivative, which is anything ending in an "ose" like dextrose or corn syrup, stay well away.

Why not make your own protein shake to be on the safe side and avoid any unecessary crap? you could add different flavours, too, like cinnamon, lemon juice, berries, etc. and even kick it up a notch with extracts like ginkgo biloba, ginseng or echinacea for an added boost.

Note: shakes may stall weight loss a bit. but its trial and error.
