LAC may well be good for you but it didn't cause that 1 pound loss. I fluctuate 1 -2 pounds per day if I measure day to day simply because this diet greatly affects the water balance of your body downwards so that minor variations in diet can cause shifts of this size. There are over 60 articles abstracted by MEDLINE that show unless you are a cat LAC will not make much difference. If you're severely overweight it may make a small long term difference and it may work synergistically with other drugs or supplements but it would be impossible to see such an effect
in one day. Finally correlation does not imply cause. There is a story in many of our textbooks that illustrates this in a somewhat graphic funny way: "a prisoner at Leavenworth taught a click bug to jump over and lie on it's back when he snapped his fingers twice, he put on shows for his fellow prisoners. When it was time for his parole he had become more serious and told the warden about a publication that would launch him on a new career as a scientist. He had his bugs perform the tricks for the warden then he took one bug and pulled off all it's legs. He then snapped his fingers twice and nothing happened. So, said the warden what of it. The prisoner smiled and said "I've proved that pulling the legs off a click bug makes it deaf". |
Not to disrupt this thread, but i think it's so great that the Richard Hatch avatar gets a more positive reaction than The Christian Bale avatar. I would have never expected that.
